Brightpaw woke up the next morning by the rain that pattered down onto her pelt, it was cool outside and it sounded like cats were starting to stir. Her head shot up Hollyfern said she would take me on the dawn patrol! She smiled and padded out of the apprentice den.
Her thoughts were swamped with questions and why Ross hadn't visited her since the night before. Surely Starclan was still watching, right? Brightpaw padded straight into a dark brown tom, clearly not paying attention to her surroundings. She jumped backwards,
"'Ey, Watch where your goin'!" He hissed lashing his tail and turning his head around to face her. His Amber eyes glistened angrily and his lip curled, Brightpaw walked away with her tail dragging on the ground. Brightpaw recognized his scent. It was Vinenose. She finally spotted Hollyfern sharing a mouse with Adderleap. Brightpaw padded over tripping over a small rock because she was lost in thought for a second. "Hollyfern, aren't we supposed to go on the dawn patrol?" She tilted her head innocently at her mentor. Hollyfern sat up and turned towards Brightpaw, as for Adderleap, he stared suspiciously at Brightpaw.
"Yes! I was just getting something to eat before we went. it's me, you, Adderleap,And Vinenose" Hollyfern padded towards the entrance where the rest of the patrol was waiting. Brightpaw glanced nervously at the Warriors her whiskers twitched nervously. She followed her mentor.

The dawn patrol had set out and The Warriors were to busy chattering to pay attention to her. Her mind reeled, and her thoughts stopped on the dream she had a few nights ago, with Ross in it. 'Where is he?' She thought 'I haven't seen him since then!' Just at that moment movement brushed the ferns beside her out of the way and a small tabby cat jumped out, she had sleek fur and very short legs. Hi there! Her voice was squeaky and a bit scratchy. But her pelt shone with stars and her strange sky blue eyes shimmered brilliantly. I'm Clover! The she-cat meowed and she stepped forward. It was at that moment that Brightpaw noticed that Clover was only a bit taller than herself. Clover looked ahead at the warriors who where farther up. We should catch up! She mewed and shot forward, Brightpaw blinked in surprise when she noticed how fast the small cat could run. They skidded to a halt, next to Hollyfern
"Hollyfern? Can I go ahead? Just a bit?" She pleaded tilting her head.
Hollyfern stopped chattering and looked down.
"Of course! Just don't go to far" she warned with a flick of her tail
Brightpaw turned to Clover and smiled. They raced ahead until Clover stopped to walk.
So Brightpaw, as you probably know, you have to make a journey at some point she huffed swishing her tail.
Brightpaw remembered the chat with Ross. "But why? When do I go? How do I know which way to go and if I'm going the right way?" Questions poured out of her mouth Clover's eyes widened as she took in all of them. Heh, well I can't tell you everything! The she-cat laughed rolling her eyes. Brightpaw felt frustration brew in her stomach, and Clovers happy expression faded to a more serious look. They were right, you want answers Clovers ears flattened.
So, you want to know more?
Bright paws eyes lit up and she lifted her head. She was going to get answers to the ongoing questions about the quest she was to go on. Clovers tail twitched there is a place you need to travel to, just south of Windclan. You will be guided by me, Ross, and a few other Starclan cats to help you find your way. She paused. When you get there, you sorta have to complete the rest of it on your own.. Which means your destiny rests in your paws. Brightpaw shuddered, this destiny that she had sounded harder than what she had in mind. But things like this don't just come so easy, quests usually have some obstacles.
Clover cleared her throat and brought Brightpaw back from her thoughts. But, the main part of this quest-prophecy thingie is that there is something there that is a danger to the cats that live there, and it's your job to protect them from these creatures. Memories flashed through Clovers eyes while she talked swiftly to the young apprentice.
"Brightpaw?" A voice broke the conversation and panic filled Brightapws thoughts. It was Hollyfern and the rest of her patrol. Before the patrol could see her Clover picked up something in her jaws and set it at Brightapws feet. She faded away but Brightpaw could here her last words echo in her head. Don't worry, soon we'll see you again.
