We went downstairs and examined the room but only a few people have arrived. After a while more important looking people arrived including a man that came solo who looked quite annoyed. He was tall and had light blue eyes with dark hair. He was actually fine looking for a 40 year old something man.
"Mr. Collins. Im so glad you could make it." My dad went to greet the man. I immediately remembered who that man, or Mr. Collins was. Him and my dad had a history in the business world. I can assure you that they are not the bestest budds out there, they are far from that actually, infact they hate each other and that man is my dads biggest business competition.
"Jay Jay honey come introduce yourself to Mr. Collins." I groaned mentally but approached them eventually.
I looked at my so-called-loving father with a death glare, yet he just smiled and walked away. Leaving me alone with the freaky man. I plasted a fake smile on my face.
"Good evening Mr. Collins. Im Jazmine. Nice to meet you."
Yeah right.
"Nice to meet you too. I've heard a bit about you. How old are you?" He asked rudely out of the blues. "If you dont mind me asking off course." He added immediately.
"I turned 18 three months ago. Why ?" I was curious of knowing why he asked suddenly. I mean, its not really any of his business- I cant tell him that of course- and anyway I've met him like 2 minutes ago. Like I said before hes freaky.
"No reason. I was just wondering because you looked about my sons age. He turned 18 six months ago. You should meet sometime. I would have gotten him with me but he's in Paris right now visiting his mother..." He went on and on about how great his son is but I zoned out after he said Paris.
Speaking of Paris. I'm dying to finally ask my parents about it.
I was saved by the doorbell as the last couple came in and dad told us that we had to go outside and start our dinner. I was so glad that I can end the awkward conversation with Mr. Collins.
You know the expression saved by the bell ?
Yeah well its true...
I quickly went back to Mari and Zo, so that I dont have to listen to their business talk.
"When are we gonna ask our parents about Paris ?" Zo asked
"Fuck, I totally forgot about asking them. " Mariana said, of course.
"LANGUAGE" Zo screamed immediately
Me and Mariana just rolled our eyes at her.
"UGHHH stop being a wuss" Mariana said
"Well someone is being cranky I guess period soon ." I said slightly amused.
"Well im not as happy as you are. She is getting her period soon and that means drama, fights, mood swings, anger issues, crying, screaming, waking up at night, -." Zoe said
"I think we get it. " Mariana interrupted her.
"Well lets hope you don't have it while we are on the plane." I said
"Yeah. If we're allowed. " Mari sighed.
We walked to the dinner table and sat down.
"Well my business sold 356 insurance last month." Mr. Collins said proudly.
"Good for you but you should know that mine sold above 400." My dad said with a smirk on his face.
"Thats nice.. but I think that the only reason you sold more is because Obama's nephew bought it from your company."
