Two rabbits, one squirrel, and a pouch of berries. I kick gray, melted snow out of my way as I walk along the asphalt road to the Trader. As much as I hate Everdeen, I have to be able to get something for my family better than this.
I walk down the sidewalk of her two story house in Victor's Village. Only three people live here, Haymitch Abernathy, Peeta Mellark, and Everdeen herself.
I knock on the wooden door, wishing I wouldn't have to be here. I despise Katniss Everdeen. It's her fault that the games are this way now.
"Hello Porcelain." I look up to meet the cold gray eyes of Katniss Everdeen. "Hi Katniss." I force myself to smile. "What brings you here?" I can tell she doesn't like me either. "The usual." I motion to my bag. "I see. How about a loaf of bread for your squirrel, and cheese for a rabbit?" She decides after a moment or two. I nod in satisfactory.
I walk back to the other side of District Twelve. I see familiar black hair and gray eyes. Coal himself. He doesn't notice me so I try to hurry by him. "Hey, you're the girl from the woods." He catches up to me. Mother said I can't talk to him or trust him. I simply nod, trying to obey my mother. "What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" He teases flicking his hair from his eyes. I put my hand around my throat, lying. "I saw you talking to my mom Porcelain." I whip around to meet his eyes. His tall figure makes mine seem like a pencil. "You're an Everdeen?" I ask. "Mellark actually. You know when a girl gets married their last name changes to their husbands last name. I'm their kid so..." He smirks. That's why mom told me to stay away. "I have to go." I run off, leaving him confused.

Today is the day. It's the reaping. I stand in line, my fingers trembling afraid it might be someone I care about who must die in the games. Effie Trinket struts on the stage. This year her outfit is a horrid yellow color. Capitol people. I tune out to her introduction, I stare trying to find Diamond. It's her first year; she must be scared to death.
"It's time to choose our girl tribute!" Effie announces excitedly.
"Diamond Dawl!"
