Cat Valentine the Mermaid

You Found Me Out

 First person P.O.V.

         I couldn't believe it! How did this Esily girl find out? I shakily asked ",Are y-you o-one". She nodded vigorously, even though I kind of figured. I told her that she shouldn't have said that aloud when she interrupted me saying,"I am a nature born mermaid."

         "What! how does that even happen?"

         "My parents were exploring when they were young,about our age, and fell into the tunnel.They turned into merpeople, and decided to stay merfolks or whatever forever. They had me when they were swimming to California, and abandoned me,as a mermaid baby.My non-biological parents found me as a mermaid baby, but dried me off,so I would have legs, and took me in."

         "Wow.That's,um...cool."

         "Thanks, I guess. So can we be friends or something?"

         "Of course! I love meeting new people." We planned a night swim.

         We had on our normal Saturday clothes, and dived in. We can swim one million MPH. Esily decided we were going to Moon pool number 4. It was located on an island near the Philippines. She had told her friends from Ireland to go to number 4, so when I arrive I got scared, and found out they were just like me. I giggled, and swam next to Esily. "Hey, everyone," I said, and the mermaid with long black curls looked at me with a rude smirk on her face. She said, out loud, "what is this red head kid doing here?" She had a very strong Irish accent, and it kind of scared me. Esily said,"She is my friend, do you have a problem with that?"

         The Irish girl, Checka, shut up.

         "So... how is it going?", I asked, hoping no one said anything about me. It was silent, when Checka broke the ice saying,"Good, I guess". I said good and we got out. I had wet ears and very nicely asked ,"Does any one have cotton swaabs?"(SKIP VIDEO TO 1:35!) Everyone laughed at me and said ," It' s pronounced 'swob', not 'swaab'!" I blushed and shuddered,"Oo-oo-oops". They laughed even more. Do they think I am really funny, or are they doing that to get on my nerves? I told them to stop laughing, and they giggled even more. I realized it was to intimidate me. I got mad and my face started to redden and burn. They laughed even more! Unbelievable I thought. "Esily, Stop", I said. She closed her mouth, obviously holding in a laugh. She couldn't hold it in much longer, and laughed really loud. It was getting noisy, so I burst, screaming,"SHUT UP...please". 

         Esily and her friend's volume went down, which was bad in their case. I think it was kind of rude for them to be mean to me. I am innocent! I haven't done anything wrong, except the time when I hit Riley, or when I screamed at Tori because the chocolate I put in my bra melted, or when I just yelled at them to shut up, but other than that I'm fine!

        "Frustration is very overcoming. Love is kind. I am mad, but fine," I said to the four girls in the corner. That was my form of an apology, and they accepted. After that awkward moment, I swam home with Esily.I felt oddly poet-like, and said," How far is the sea, How bright is the moon, is a smile so big, to lighten the mood". Esily looked at me for a few moments, then laughed. I shall wait until we arrive home to tell Esily what I found. What did I find you ask? Well, I found  a shell that I engraved her name on with my new jet water power.
