FitzSimmons

Chapter 1

Fitz looked over his computer monitor at Simmons, and he felt butterflies in his stomach. 'You can do it,' he thought, 'you can tell her how you feel.' Fitz sat in his chair staring at Simmons as she worked. "Fitz, can you pass me that test tube there?" Jemma asked pointing at a test tube without looking up from what she was doing. Fitz got up from the computer, grabbed the test tube, and held it out for Jemma. Jemma reached out for the test tube and her hand touched Fitz's as she grabbed the test tube. Jemma blushed as she continued with what she was working on. "I'm going to the kitchen, do you want anything Jem?" Fitz asked walking to the lab door. Jemma looked up and got out of her chair. "Do you want me to make you a prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella with a hint of pesto aioli?" Jemma asked as she joined Fitz by the lab door. "Sure." Fitz said as they walked to the kitchen. Once in the kitchen, Jemma got to work on making the sandwich for Fitz and Fitz got out two glasses for lemonade. "Skye." Fitz said pulling the empty lemonade pitcher out of the fridge. "What she do now?" Jemma asked looking up from making their sandwiches. "She put the lemonade pitcher back in the fridge even though it was empty." Fitz said placing the pitcher on the counter. "Who did what?" Skye asked walking into the kitchen with May. "You put the empty lemonade pitcher in the fridge instead of making more lemonade." Fitz said pointing at Skye. "Oh right," Skye said, "I was going to make more lemonade but then I got distracted so I ended up putting the pitcher back in the fridge." May grabbed an apple from the fridge and stood in the kitchen waiting for Skye to finish making more lemonade. "Jemma, are you still good for girl's movie night tonight with me, May and Bobbi?" Skye asked as she gave Fitz the pitcher of lemonade. "Yeah, I'll meet you girls in the lounge at 7:00pm," Jemma said as she finished making the sandwiches, "is there any kind of food you want me to bring?" May took a bite of her apple, "No, we already have candy, popcorn and make your own sundaes, we won't need anymore food." May said before she and Skye left the kitchen. "So, movie night with the girls?" Fitz asked as he put the lemonade in the fridge after pouring some into the two glasses he had gotten out. "Yeah, we don't do much hanging out, just us girls so we decided to have a movie night." Jemma said as she headed out of the kitchen with the sandwiches. "You're having a movie night and May's joining?" Fitz asked following Jemma as he carried their lemonades. "Surprisingly, it was her idea." Jemma said as they entered the lab. Jemma set their plates on an empty table in the lab and pulled two chairs over while Fitz set down their glasses. "It was May's idea?" Fitz asked surprised. "Yeah, I guess we were all shocked that she thought of the idea, but I think it's a great idea." Jemma said sitting in one of the chairs she had brought to the table.
