Chapter 18

-It's been a few weeks living with their new daughter Astrid-

Ross' POV

"Max? Where are you taking me?" Max leads me through twisted crowds of people to a secluded park by a lake.

"Over here.." He says pulling me to the small shore of the lake, the sun sets casting an orange glow over the horizon.

"Wow. It's so beautiful!" I utter watching it create a shine of the water, it also makes Max's hair glow.

"It sure is..." Max whispers look at me, I playfully push him and giggle.

"Hey! It's true!" He laughs, I let the blush paint my cheeks as we both stare into each other's eyes.

"S-so..." I laugh, "There has to be some reason you brought me out here Max." I smirk.

"Yeah there is.... And I think I'm going mad keeping to to myself." Max chuckled, moving closer to me.

"Okay... So what is it?" I ask, curiosity tugging at my brain.

Max stands up, I stand up and join him waiting his answer.

"... Let's go swimming first!" He says, suddenly becoming enlightened by the idea.

"Swimming? I didn't bring a swim suit... MMMF-" I'm cut off as Max tosses his now lose shirt into my face and dives into the clearly cold lake.

Laughing, I toss off my shirt and jump in next to him. I rise from under the water and shiver at its chill.

"What's wrong Ross? I thought you were a narwhal!" Max teases, I dive under water and slowly inch towards Max. I spot his kicking legs and dart up in front of his face.

"BOO" I scream.

"FU-" Max tumbles under water as I tackle-hug him.

We both rise up and laugh, Max catches me off guard as he kisses me deeply, though it's hard to kiss when you have to tread water...

Eventually we both tire of the cold water and swim back to shore, resting on the dirt sand. I cuddle against Max's chest for warmth.

"This was really fun Max... I love you" I smile.

"It's not over yet." Max says, he stands up and looks at me, worry showing on his face.

What's got him so scared?

"Ross. I have loved since the beginning and never want you to leave me, I smile when you smile and become delighted when I merely see you, I want to start a family with you... Which we have already begun. I want to start a life with you." He begins.

"M-Me too?" I say, does he not think I agree with this?

"R-Ross..." He says, he gets in one knee. I realise what's going on and start to panic.

"Will you..." He pulls a now wet ring out of his pocket. What if I say no?! Will I say yes? Am I ready to commit?!?

"Marry me?" Max asks, smiling slightly as he holds the ring out to me. I cup my hands over my face and feel tears slip down my cheeks.

What are you doing Ross?!? You LOVE Him!!!!

"Yes! Yes I Will!" I sing and jump into his arms.

"Thank fuck..." He mutters into my soaking hair.

I smile as he slips the ring onto my finger, it's a diamond. I notice words along the sides and gasp, tearing up again.

"I love you Ross." Max whispers.

"I love you too..." I reply.

THANK GOD!

This could probably be the end but a pretty bad ending if you ask me...
