Michael and I calmly left the classroom, followed by Luke. There was no shoving into lockers, or teasing, seeing how the hallway was now filled to the brim with small grade nines. Everyone was acting very chill. That was until I tripped going up the stairs and fell flat on my ass. Michael and Luke howled with laughter for a solid minute until they decided to help me.

I stopped at Shelby's locker, and stood there like an actual idiot for a solid minute until I remembered she didn't have any classes fourth, and left an hour ago. Right as I was about to leave, Ashton arrived.

"Hey Carleigh!" he said in his typically cheery voice as he opened his locker, looking cute as ever.

"Hey Ash! How's it going?" I asked him.

"Really good, thanks. How are you?"

"I'm good! Just have to make it through this year."

"True true," he responded, "got a boyfriend yet?" he teased.

"Hardly." I replied, rolling my eyes at his cute face. "How about you hottie, how many chicks did you land this summer?"

"Oh shut up." he said, annoyed.

"I have to go, see you tomorrow." I said to him, smiling.

"Bye Carleigh!" he called back to me.

As I started making my way back to my locker, I was happy to see Michael and Luke still waiting.

"Hello boys." I smiled at them as I fished my backpack from the slim locker.

I turned around to find the one and only Cameron Isen approaching. I rolled my eyes at him as he fakely smiled at me.

"Hey Carleigh, Michael." he said, looking to the both of us, then moving his attention towards the tall blond. "You must be Luke."

"Yeah. And you are?" he asked.

"Oh sorry, I'm Cameron. Captain of the hockey team." He said while winking towards a cheerleader who was walking by, and she promptly giggled. How typical. "Anyways, you're all I've been hearing about today, so I was wondering if you'd come to my beginning of the year party tonight."

"Sure man, sounds good. Michael, Carleigh, are you two coming?" Luke inquired, looking from us to Cameron.

"I mean, if they want to then sure." he said almost regretfully. "But you, at all costs, cannot bring Shelby."

I laughed. "That's fine, she's working anyways. What time does it start?"

"Nine."

"Alright, we'll see you there." Luke promised and Cameron left us.

"I cannot believe." I said, looking at Michael.

He looked guilty. "I know," he said sincerely, "but I'll figure it out for you."

"What?" asked Luke, tilting his head lookin all cute and shit.

"Cara's parents are the most strict people you could ever meet in your life. Trust me." assured Michael.

"Oh, just shitty."

"Yeah tell me something I don't know. I have to head home now, but don't worry Michael I'll find some way out of it. I have to go now though or else Caleb is going to leave me here." I said.

"Who's Caleb?" Luke asked.

"Just my brother." I said, beginning to walk down the hallway. "I'll see you two tonight... hopefully!" I called to them down the hallway.
