Ah, final exam of the year done with. That excitement and relief of completing the year has no bounds. Especially when it's your last year of school. To people who procrastinate the year away (Like myself) the feeling is much more muted, as you know you're performance isn't as exceptional - although you won't fail, you won't have that shiny 99% labelled on your forehead.
Looking back I realise how stupid I was. But it wasn't the time to complain and moan. It's summer vacation, and I intended to make the most of it. Despite my academic performance and family who believed I did otherwise.
With such thoughts sprinting across my mind, I managed to get home and celebrate. Watched an interesting movie with friends, came home and met my other friends, and went out side for dinner with the family. What an ordinary way to identify this momentous occasion.
That night as my father parked the car, and we all shuffled out - I noticed a lone boy sitting on a bench. He didn't look dangerous, so I went back to minding my own business. Soon the tunes of 'Hymn For The Weekend' was heard, and it surprisingly became louder. Scowling I turned around to glare at the boy for being so inconsiderate (it was 11PM) - turned out it was another boy who had seated himself on the bench.
"Could you please turn down the volume? It's quite late you know." My mother said to the boys. I caught a glimpse of both of them before entering my house. One boy was fumbling around with his phone hastily, the other was smiling sheepishly at my mother.
And I thought to myself, what an amusing sight.
