Too high a cost

Say goodbye to the old me, say hello to the new

I've changed who I am, and it's all thanks to you

I used to stare on the mirror, all I saw was a waste

Instead of a human filled with beauty and grace

I fell because of you, now I shall swear my revenge

How could you be a stranger, when we were once best friends?

Don't look so surprised honey, this was your cause

I'm finally sick of these stitches and bloodied gauze

Cause it ain't right, to hold someone so close

Just to toss them aside like the love they had chose

And it ain't right, to disappear out of the blue

If you ain't going to catch her, don't make her fall for you

Cause once she falls, she'll start fallin' hard

Landing on nothing but sharp broken shards

Shards of the good days, that so long have passed

Because she DID fall for you,and she fell fast

As she fell, the wind just rushed through her hair

Cause her heart was in the clouds, her mind wasn't there

She loved you till the end, as she loved you from the start

With all of her beautiful mind, body and heart

But little did she know all that time was a lie

Now she's crying herself to sleep almost every night

The pain became something her golden heart couldn't bare

So she rose from her bed, her face a blank stare

Grabbed a paper and a pen, her hands shaking violently

She wrote "Mom, Dad, I'm sorry for this insanity.

This world just is too cruel for someone like me

It's too tainted by lies, so dark that I can't seem to see

I can't decipher the truth from a lie anymore

I just hope this makes the world question what it lives for"

On the dresser it went, so neatly folded in half

So she went to the restroom, locked the door and started a bath

In the nmirror she stared,as the tears fell from her chin

In her reflection, as she saw was fear and sin

Hallowed eyes of misery, all will to live was lost

And so she gave in at much too high a cost
