Kylieeeee

Laying on my bed reading the latest version of Seventeen Magazine. The August 2015 edition. I skimmed through it about 12 times stopping to actually read the DIYs on hair and nails. High School was only a month away and I needed some extra inspiration on my soon to be appearance.

"Kylie !! DINNERS READY !!" Yelled my mother.

I never understood why she yelled so loud when my room was right next door to the kitchen. Preventing her from nearly straining her voice to call me to the kitchen, I simply close my magazine and walk to the kitchen table to see a steaming plate of baked ziti. Yummm!

High school was always on my mind since I graduated from 8th grade. I didn't know what to expect. I always tried not to go off the beautiful fantasy Disney movies gave me. I pictured myself that one girl that everybody thought was ugly and shy and then towards the end, transformed into a whole new person. Do you see what Disney movies do to me.

"Kyl ... Can I turn on batman?" Said my little brother Kiyel as he peaked at me through my purple galaxy covers.
"Kiyel ... It's 11:00 at night and you have school. Go. To. Sleep." I said rubbing my sleepy eyes as I sat up.
"You meannnn !" Says Kiyel as he slams his head on the pillow. Forcing himself back to sleep.

I have two blood siblings. Their names are Kiyel (whose 5 years old) and Kamony (whose 8 years old). Please don't ask me the question that 80% of my friends ask me. "What's up with the Ks?" Well that's a question only my parents can answer and a question I don't bother to ask them.

Then there's Deon. My 20 year old step brother who pretty much I dislike. He's the cry baby in the family. He hates to do anything and decided that our father is only his father. Everything he does urks me because it's always something retarded or childish.

Being the mature female in the family with straight A's since kindergarten makes me the one that's given all the strict rules and is always asked twice about my whereabouts. I partially understand my parents ways. "Divorced" parents ways.

School was my ticket away from my annoying siblings and complicated parents. It was a ticket for me to be me. And I just couldn't wait until it started.

"Kylie... Kylieeeee.. Breakfast is on the table" said Kamony gently shaking me awake.
"Alright, alright I'm up Ke."
"Still going to Roland's hotel party at 2:30?" Asked mom as she scrambled some more eggs.
"Yes, I was wondering can you take me to get an outfit for that. I wanna wear something fresh"
" .... I'll see Kylie .. I got a lot of things to do today"
"Alright mom." As I gulped down my last spoonful of eggs.

I took a "thought shower" where I spent most of my time with my head in the water thinking about life rather than actually showering. I got out in the next 20 minutes and threw on some ripped jeans and a "what's up" tank top with some black air forces. I needed some fresh air.

Calling up the girls and linking up was always the best times for me no matter what we did. But today I only decided to call up my life long best friend and just take her to the park with me. Whatever happens there, happens.

Ringgggggg Ringgggg ---
- Hello ?
- "Kylie? Where are you? I'm at the park now where the swing set is. There's this one fat kid whose giving me the death swing look"

I chuckle at that !

- Omg Mahloni lol ! I'm around the corner. If I'm not there in three minutes, throw whatever food item in your hand and run for the hills.
- "Not my Double Cheeseburger from Wendy's!!! You must be out of you mind if yo--"

I hung up the phone on her knowing she will go on and on about her wonderful cheeseburger. Even though my bestfriend seems more in love with food than me, she can't be replaced. I love her forever.

Approaching the park, for a minute I thought I didn't recognize where I were. Then I realized the field of flowers near the jungle gym was dying. It looked dry and the purple Violet's were drooping. There was this one flower. A pink and white rose. It stood out of all the droopy violets

Someone must've planted it...

I continued walking towards the swing set where I saw Mahloni with only half of her cheeseburger in her hand next to the fat kid she described to me on the phone. I started laughing as I approached her. When she glanced at me there came the ---
OOMF
She hugged me tightly as if I saved her from a man who was trying to rob her...

"I feel safe now from the cheeseburger thief." She whispered into my ear.
"I bet you do.. Ready to go ?"
"Couldn't be more ready !" She shrieked while taking a big bite out of what's left of her Double Cheeseburger from Wendy's.

I took Mahloni to the shopping center that we been going to since we were 12. It was the ultimate fashion place for girls like us.
"Kylie.. How does this shirt look?"
"I can see you rocking it but not all the time. Bright pink is not your color...."
"I guess so .. You still going to Ronald's party"
"Yup, it is the last party of the summer that I would most likely go to."
"Oh please, you know how your family is with their cookouts!"
I laughed at that comment. My family on my mother side always seemed to go all out with their big great cookouts that last all night !

Once 12:00 hit, Mahloni and I parted ways and I headed home to get ready for this party. Even without a new outfit...
Opening my room door once inside, I saw a Forever 21 bag laying on my bed. Excitedly I dug into the bag and pulled out a black skater skirt with a pink crop top.
"THANKS MOMMMMM" I yelled from my room with a big smile on my face.

I took a 15 minute shower and threw on my new clothes and curled my long brown hair. I decided not to take my bathing suit due to me curling my hair. I couldn't take another 2 hour "wash out the chlorine in your hair."
I grabbed my wallet and my strawberry scented Eos and began to head out towards the awaiting Uber.

"I'll pick you up at 9:00." Said my mother from the front door.

Approaching the hotel room, I could hear all the noise. The music, the people, the moving... I walked in to see everyone staring... At me .... But I wasn't focused on them... I was focused on him...
