Ever since I was little, I've loved dancing. I took a few dance classes from a lady here in twelve, but she died and nobody took over. So a dance company from the capitol took the three of us who took from the lady to the capitol for dance lessons.

Now, me and my friends Vivietta and Eris, are some of the best dancers in the capitol. We perform at the capitol occasionally, and practice there two times a week. We get free transportation on a train and get all of the costumes and shoes for free or reduced prices since we come from twelve.

I have a pretty good life right now. I'm dancing in the Capitol, I get nice things for free, I get to travel across Panem a few times a week, and I have plenty of friends.

I smile at the thought of how good my life is.

"Ari, earth to Ariabella," says Eris.

"What?" I say, snapping out of my thoughts.

"Mrs. Sugarplum said the district girls need to see her asap," Eris says as she pulls me towards Mrs. Sugarplum.

"Ok girls, so I know that your reaping is in two days, but as long as you don't get picked, we will be performing this week to celebrate the games," says Mrs. Sugarplum.

"What if we do get picked?" I ask.

"Well, I'm not sure yet. We can't do the dance without one of you," Mrs. Sugarplum says and she walks away.

Vivietta, Eris, and I walk back over to our dance bags and put our pointe shoes away before heading out.

"What was that all about?" asks my capitol friend Skye, her blonde and light blue hair shimmering with sweat.

"The reaping," I reply.

"Oh ok. Good luck tomorrow," says Skye before running the opposite way to her house.

"Thanks!!" I call after her before catching up with Vivietta and Eris.

We walk to the train station and get on together. We usually don't get back until the next morning, so we each get a small room on the train. The train isn't as nice as the one for the tributes. This one just has rows of seats and some small bedrooms.

We board the train and are all alone, since not many people travel to and from the districts.

I sit by the window and look out at the country whizzing by. The sun hasn't set yet, so I don't go to my bedroom yet.

We mainly sit in silence for a while, thinking about the reaping.

"Are you guys nervous?" Asks Vivietta.

"Yeah, a bit," I answer.

"Me too, I don't want to die yet, I still want to dance," says Eris.

After another couple minutes, I decide to go to bed.

I go back to my room and take a shower from the small shower in the bathroom before I change into my fuzzy pajamas, which I saved up to buy from the capitol, and climb into bed.

After staring out the small window by my bed, I finally drift off to sleep.

"Ari, Ari, ARI!!" I hear Vivietta yell as I wake up.

"What?" I ask, stretching.

"We're almost home, get dressed," Vivietta says before leaving my room.

I get up and change into my tshirt and pants. I quickly braid my hair to my right side and rush out.

I get out there just as we arrive in twelve.

Vivietta, Eris, and I get off of the train then walk to our houses.
