Lacey climbed her tree, climbing so fast, dodging each branch that stuck out and would jab into a normal person. She knew each branch, each leaf, each bit of sap that she could be climbing with her eyes closed.

She got to the top of the 20m tall tree and looked around. She saw a Rosella perched in the tree next to hers, chirping softly. She whistled a small tune and the Rosella flew to her. She held it, perched on her arm, and watched. She ran her figures through the birds soft, silky feathers and it sing a song. She held her arm up and the rosella flew off. Lacey smiled then lay back into her tree.

Lacey was always great with animals. She had such a bond with them. She always knew each and every little fact about them, but then again, seeing those she's been studying them for the last 11 years of her life, it's not that surprising. She was alone in a forest, no one ever came, she didn't speak English, she only talked to the animals. She loved them, she cared for them, and they did the same back. She didn't even know humans existed.

Lacey didn't know much from her childhood. All she remembers is a pack of dingos raised her. Which is really odd seeing those most dingo packs would eat her. She learnt the way of the wild, howled with the dingos, sang with the birds, grazed with the kangaroos. The only thing she wanted to see again is an emu. She only saw one once, very quickly. She was instantly in love with the huge bird. Though, she never thought she'd see one again. They never came to her home.

Lacey was an amazing tree climber. She was climbing trees ever since she could remember. She loved it. She knew which branches could hold her, which couldn't, which trees were old, and shouldn't be climbed and which trees were healthy and able to be climbed. The 20m tree, will always be her favourite. Right from the beginning. It was the first one she climbed, and will be the last. She knows it. She can see all over her territory. She can see each animal and make sure they are safe. It is safe for her too. She can spot berries or fruits to eat. She never ate meat. She would never have the heart of killing one of her animals. She let the dingos hunt in her territory, but she always liked it better when they didn't.

She never thought she was lonely, she didn't have a care in the world really. Then, she didn't know anything about the real world. That was all going to change. She heard something, no idea what, but she knew she heard footsteps with it. She climbed a little lower so she could have a better look. She watched carefully and then...two legged animals walked into her territory.
