***A few days later***

"No! No! No! Please!!" I woke up, screaming and crying. My mom burst into my room and ran over to me.
"Baby! Baby! It's okay! It's okay," she calmed me. "You're okay." I sniffled. "Oh, baby, I'm so sorry," she said and pulled me into her warm body. She wrapped her arms around me and laid my head against her chest and rocked me. She kissed the top of my head and rested her head on mine.
"Will you sleep in here with me?" I asked quietly.
"Of course, princess," she replied. I thanked her and we got in bed. I snuggled into her then fell fast asleep.
The next morning, I snuck away from the bed, careful not to wake my mom, so I could surprise her with a nice breakfast. I went into the kitchen and got out the pancake mix, the uncooked bacon, and some fresh strawberries. I fixed up the breakfast and cleaned as I went  when it was done, I fixated it all nicely on a tray, then got out some orange juice and poured it in a cup. I put that on a tray, then went to go wake up my mom. I carried the tray in my room and quietly woke her up.
"What's all this baby?" she asked.
"Oh, nothing, I just thought you deserved a nice breakfast for once, that wasn't just on a holiday," I replied.
"Aww, thank you, baby girl," she said. She sat up and I handed her the tray. I sat down beside her feet and listened as her phone went off. She picked it up and answered.
"Hello?" I heard mumbling on the other line but nothing was coming out clearly.
"On my way."
"You're leaving again?" I asked, trying to cover up the fact that I was upset because she was leaving.
"Just for a few days, I promise," she said. I sighed and nodded. "Put this on the counter for me?"
"Okay," I said. I did as she asked and put her tray out on the counter on the breakfast bar. A few minutes, maybe ten, she came out of her room wearing her regular business clothes.
"I love you," she said. "So much." I have a short laugh.
"I love you so much more," I replied. She smiled.
"I've got to go, please be safe." I nodded.
"I will."
"I love you," she enunciated.
"I love you too, Mama," I said, sort of scared of why she was being so direct.
She grabbed her purse and left the house.

*A week later*
I still hadn't heard from my mom or the team. I had been waiting by the phone wondering when someone was going to call me. Finally, the phone rang.
"Hello?" I said urgently.
"Sage?" I knew it was Morgan from the sound of his voice.
"Yeah, where's my mom?"
"We need you to come to the station."
"Okay I'll take a bus right now."
"See you there." I hung up the phone and grabbed my money. I walked out of the house and down to the bus stop. When the bus finally came I handed the driver the money and sat down. It took a while to finally get to the office. I got off the bus and ran in. I took the elevator up the the fourth floor and walked into the main room where the team was waiting for me.
"Where's my mom?" I asked immediately.
"Sit down," Hotch said.
