A passing smile and hint of a wave
Marching off to your next achievement
Laughing with a stranger
leaving me in
the
dust.
I'm one step away from tears and you are
Head held high and a pat on my shoulder
|you'll be fine. you're going to work at it.|
But I guess that's easy to say when
Perfection comes naturally
And slips through your lips with every word
And you leave them all hanging, wanting more
And laughing with you as you make them each feel {wanted special loved}
And all I can do is watch as I am demoted
From Partner in Crime to
Innocent Bystander
And I do stand by in hopes
That it's not true
{that I'm still good enough}
Or did you forget me?
