My stomach dropped when at my Dad's sudden outburst. Couples paused to stare at the angry man but then returned to their expensive meals.
"I..I.." I stumbled out, my mouth was suddenly too dry to speak. I shakily twisted my head a little to the left to see Niall and Charles looking down at their nervous fidgeting fingers.
"Alex, calm down please." Naura intervined. She whispered words in his ears that appeared to calm him down but both of their jaws were clenched tightly together.
"So," she spoke, trying to settle herself, "do you know who the father is?" Is she frickin' kidding me? I am not some kind of slut that does that shit, I will never be, just the thought of them thinking of me that way makes me furious.
"It's..um.."
"Me." I was surprised to find Niall picking his head up slightly to speak that one word. Naura's mouth dropped open and let out a slight gasp. Charles looked like he was about to cry which made my head even dizzier from confusion. My Dad hadn't been making eye contact with me until Niall spoke that one word that changed everything. He shoved his chair out from under him before slamming his palms on the table abruptly. His face was down until he slowly picked it up showing sadness and watery eyes.
"How could you do this to her? You ruined her life, she won't get to go to college,"
"Dad, don't" I tried to cut him off from saying something that would destroy the already slight chance Niall and I have. Niall's sad and weak expression made tears start to flow down my face.
"NO! I will not let you stand up for this man, no, boy to come and screw everything up for you! We are leaving and going home for good." I saw tears coming down Niall's broken face before he stormed out which left Charles running after him and Naura sobbing into her hands. Tears were falling so heavily I couldn't see anything, all I knew is I had to go after Niall and fix this.
I can't leave like this.
