A/N I'm so sorry! high school is seriously crazy! This was only my second semester of high school and I was super busy. Homework, boy drama, girl drama, the usual high school stuff...buuutttt now that it is summer break I am going to try and stay motivated and get an update weekly but i cannot make any promises. Thanks for sticking around despite my stupidity!
"No!" Ally looked devastated and I could hardly bare to look up at her.
"Ally I'm sorry, we leave in two days. I just found out this morning or else I would've told you sooner."
"Gen, I don't even know what to think right now." This is that moment where my best friend begins to panic and wonder what she will do without me and where she starts begging me to stay because she just..
.. "can't live without you Gen! You and I have been together since we were born. You can't just leave me like this."
I stand up and run my fingers through my hair starting to become very upset that I'm leaving. "Al I don't have a choice. I'm going to miss you.."
She stands up and wraps her arms around me hugging me tightly and I do the same for her as she breathes out, "I'm gonna miss you more Genny."
After our brief goodbye and discussion that included making sure we were going to keep in touch and the promise to Skype everyday, I took the short walk back to my house and back up to my room. As I walked in my room and saw boxes stacked as high as my ceiling I sighed and decided packing would be a good way to get my mind off the fact I was moving.
I stuffed all of my little tinkers and stuffed animals that I had collected over the years into a box. I really would hate to leave any of that behind especially since I can basically fill two boxes with all of that stuff. I'm a hoarder, I know.
After packing up most of my stuff besides the necessities that I will pack the day I leave, I decided to take a chill pill and scroll through Facebook. And when Facebook gets boring I'll scroll through Twitter and then after that Instagram. Then I will probably check my Snapchat that consists of me, Al, and this really cute guy that doesn't know I have his Snapchat. Which is creepy but I like to see what he posts on his story. Sometimes it's kinda funny.
Half-way through my scrolling, my mom interrupts, "Genevieve, come down here right now!"
I groan at the human-being that is taking me away from my favorite human-being (Ally, if you haven't figured that out by now).
"Yes, mom?" I ask when I reach the bottom of our stairs.
"I just wanted to talk to you about this move." Wow. She actually looks sympathetic.
"What is there to talk about? You are dragging me away from the place that I grew up in, the people I grew up with. I honestly don't know what is going to happen to me at this new school nor if I will even fit in. Not that I fit in now but still."
"Honey," she touches my shoulder, "it will be fine! You are going to love your new school! When I went to scout it out, all the kids seemed nice and welcoming. The teachers are all really friendly too. You just have to..."
"Have to what mom?"
"Give them a chance." Psh yeah, right.
