Well, today is the day. Today is the day that I have to face the hell of going to a completely different school that is full of strangers.
I get up and decide that I should probably dress up to make a good first impression since I actually want to make some friends. I put on a black tank top tucked into my high waisted shorts and put a pink plaid flannel over top of it. I then slide on my maroon vans.
I grab my over-the-shoulder bag since I will most likely get homework, even though it's the first day. I jog down the stairs and snatch a piece of toast that was pre-made by my mother as I head out the door, being late already.
I jog to the bus-stop hoping to God that I haven't missed the bus. Thank God I hadn't. After about a minute I realize I didn't do my makeup nor did i straighten my wavy mess of hair. "Shit," I mumble under my breath. Oh well guess people will have to see the natural me before they see the beautified me.
I jump slightly when I hear someone clear their throat behind me.
"Sorry didn't mean to scare you," a guy. Great, maybe this is a sign for me to actually have a relationship!
I turn toward him, "No, don't worry about it. I'm just slightly jumpy."
"You know I haven't seen you around, first day?" He asks with curiosity filling his eyes.
I feel my cheeks flush red, "Uhm yeah. You're actually the first person I've met. I'm Genevieve, but everyone either calls me Gen or Genny." I stick out my hand to shake his. Oh God nobody does that anymore.
He surprisingly takes my hand, "It's nice to meet you, Genny. I'm Cambriel, but everyone calls me Cam. And I swear if you call me Bri," he chuckles, "only people who want to piss me off call me that."
I laugh light-heartedly feeling slightly awkward. Thank God the bus drives up and saves me. But as we are walking on the bus Cam grabs my arm, "Hey sit with me?"
I nod giving him a half-assed smile. "Yeah sure." I sit down next to him. He took the damn window seat. "So you think you could like, show me around the school? I would really appreciate it."
He shoots a charming smile my way, "Yeah of course!"
I breath a sigh of relief and lean my head back against the back of the bus seat. We don't end up talking the rest of the bus ride but as soon as we get off, Cam shows me to the office to get my class schedule and my locker number.
"Alright so let's figure out where you're locker is," he says as he focuses on the piece of paper the office gave me. "What grade are you in?"
"I'm a Junior."
"Okay so you're locker is actually right here," he hits the locker with the palm of his hand twice and it opens.
"Ooo smooth guy."
"This was my locker last year. I'm a senior this year." Great so I'll be getting into a friendship with a soon to be college student. Not. Good.
"Oh okay, well I really only have my bag so I don't have anything to put in my locker quite yet. Where's my first class?" I look over at the paper and see I have Chem 1 first. Great start. Not.
"So Chem 1 will be the last door on the left down this hallway," he explains as he points down the hallway as if pointing is really going to help me find it.
"Thanks so much, I'll see you later?"
"For sure." There's that charming smile again.
Well here goes nothing.
A/N Oooo daily updates may become my thing. My mind just keeps flowing with ideas. And also sorry that the chapters are so short, I'll try my hardest to make them longer.
