"Attention to detail in the preparation is the prerequisite of all planning." Slughorn began but was cut off when Harry and Ron came into the room.

"Ah, Harry, my boy, I was beginning to worry. We've brought someone new wit us, I see."

"Ron Weasley, sir. But I'm dead awful at Potions, a menace, actually. I'm gonna..." He backed away but Harry pushed him forwards.

"Nonsense, we'll sort you out. Any friend of Harry's is a friend of mine. Get your books out." Slughorn told them.

"I haven't actually got my book yet, and nor has Ron." Harry told him. I rolled my eyes.

"Get what you want from the cupboard." Slughorn told them waving them off as he faced us.

"Now, as I was saying,I prepared some concoctions this morning. Any ideas what these might be?"

Hermione and I raised our hands.

"Yes, Miss Black." He said. I stepped up and looked in the first cauldron.

"That one there is Veritaserum. It's a truth-telling serum. And that would be Polyjuice Potion. It's a tricky potion to make. And this is Amortentia the most powerful love potion in the world. It's rumored to smell differently to each person according to what attracts them." I explained. "For an example I smell...freshly mown grass, and new parchment and spearmint toothpaste." I cleared my throat before stepping back.

"Now, Amortentia doesn't create actual love. That would be impossible. But it does cause a powerful infatuation or obsession." Slughorn explained. "And for that reason, it is probably the most dangerous potion in this room." He said before putting a lid on it.

"Sir? You haven't told us what's in that one." Someone who's in the same house I'm in says.

"Oh eyes." He said picking up a small vial. "What you see before you, ladies and gentlemen is a curious little potion know as Felix Felicus. But it is more commonly referred to as-"

"Liquid luck." Hermione interrupted.

"Yes, Miss Granger. Liquid luck. Desperately tricky to make, disastrous should you get it wrong. One sip and you will find that all of your endeavors succeed. At least until the effects wear off." He explained. "So this is what I offer each of you today. One tiny vial of liquid luck to the student who, in the hour that remains manages to brew an acceptable Draught of Living Death the recipes for which can be found on page 10 of your books." Slughorn told us.

After Slughorn was done talking we had to get to our brewing stations. There was only one spot left open and that was next to Draco.

"Go somewhere else, half-blood" Pansy hissed. I shot her a glare.

"That's enough Pansy." Draco scolded her which shut her up. He looked to me. "You can stay." I threw him a grateful smile before opening up my book and got to work on my potion.

I was getting aggravated because I couldn't cut the Sopophorus bean in half. I growled in frustration.

I heard a chuckle. I looked at Draco who lightly smirked at me.

"Having trouble there?" He asked tauntingly. I rolled my eyes.

"No." I huffed.

Oh bloody hell screw it.

Instead of cutting the blasted bean in half I crushed it. Better then nothing right? I stirred it and continued to work on it.

After an hour Slughorn came around and tested our potions out.

"Merlin's beard. it's perfect." Slughorn says referring to Harry's potion. I gave up. My hair was a frizzy mess. I pulled it back into a pony tail. "So perfect I dare say one drop would kill us all."

I exited the classroom, my bag slung over my shoulder.

"Oi, Anna." I looked behind me where Draco was coming over with Blaise, Parkinson, Crabbe and Goyle.

I raised an eyebrow in suspicion.

"Yes?" I asked.

"I couldn't help but notice you're alone."

"Bravo Draco good observation." I told him sarcastically causing Blaise, Crabbe and Goyle to snicker. I smirked as Draco threw them a glare.

"Anyways." He said agitated. "How about you hang out with us seeing as you most likely have nothing else better to do." He stated.

"What's that suppose to mean?"

"Smooth Draco." Blaise said with a smirk.

"You know...never mind. So how 'bout it?" He asked a bit eagerly.

I contemplated it for a moment before shrugging.

"Why not?"
