My name is... Colorful Music. At least that's the name I came up with for myself. I can't remember my original name. It started with a D. That's all I remember of it. Now, your here for my history. Well, lets start from the beginning. And by that I mean as far back as I can remember, which is from the moment I first woke up.
I called him Dadther, because I was young and had a lisp. He was better known as Dr. W. D. Gaster. Yup, Gaster. And depending on what you believe (which I don't really care) my brothers were Sans and Papyrus, but I called them Thanth and Paplututh. I couldn't pronounce very well okay. Either way, let's start:
Where am I? I can't see anything!
I started to panic. I only saw black. I thought I was alone or something. So, as a natural instinct, I started to breath heavy and with short breaths. I didn't know what was happening. In fact, I didn't know anything. Other than natural things to do, like breath, and how to think.
"Dad! She's panicking!" It was a young male. Young, but not a toddler, and certainly not a teen yet.
"Calm her down Sans. I need her to be calm." An older male, definitely past his teens.
"Sure thing dad." Sans, that was his name, "D--- calm down. You are fine. Just breath. No need to panic." He said that to me as if I was an alien. Pronouncing each word slowly.
"SANS! I'M PRETTY SURE SHE CAN UNDERSTAND YOU BIG BROTHER." I could NOT categorize that voice. It was loud, scratchy, and a little annoying. I hated it. It made me cringe. I thought my ears, if I had any, were going to explode.
"Papyrus. Not helping. I think your voice activates her pain responses."
"OH. SORRY D---! I DIDN'T KNOW!" That voice seriously hurts. I cringed again.
So, there was Sans, his voice was calm, gentle, I liked it. Then there was Papyrus, his voice was loud and obnoxious, I HATED it. Then there was their father, his voice was calm and soothing, it felt like I could go to sleep when I hear it.
"Papyrus, play with your bunny-"
"FLUFFY BUNNY!"
"Fluffy Bunny. And let me and Sans take care of D---. She'll be fine."
"YES FATHER."
It went quiet for a moment as Sans and the other male did something. I could hear Papyrus talking quietly in the background. I was still panicking a little, but hearing the other male's voice calmed me a little bit. Then IT started playing, a song, it calmed me the best of all.
"Pap. Can you NOT play your song please?"
"SORRY S-"
"What was that?" I asked. I figured I'd ask and keep it playing. But it seems my talking wasn't expected yet. Cause for a long pause, there was nothing. And by nothing I mean no writing noises or talking.
After a while, Sans spoke. "It was Pap's battle song."
"IT'S CALLED BONETROUSLE."
"I like it. Can you keep playing it please?" Another pause.
Papyrus's song Bonetrousle played again. It played through four times before I felt hands sitting me up.
"Alright D---. I'm going to take the bandages on your head off now. Just stay calm."
"Okay."
And so he took off the bandages. The first one of them that I saw was Papyrus. He was on the other side of the lab room, with a stuffed rabbit in his hands. He had on this big white shirt thing that looked like the chest and upper back part of a suit of armor. His pants were the same way too, but without the leg parts, and blue. He had red boots that were REALLY big on him. His scarf was red as well, big, and almost covering his face. No wonder he had to shout. To my right was who I believed to be Sans. He was wearing a blue button up shirt underneath a white lab coat. Even though he was a skeleton, it seemed his smile was forced. He had medium brown pants with blue sneakers on. His sneakers were tightly, but neatly tied and out of the way from being tripped on. He also had lab goggles positioned on his head. They were both looking at me as if they were expecting me to jump up and down like a little kid on a sugar rush.
"How do you feel D---? Nauseous? Excited?" I looked to my right to find the other male.
"I feel fine. Are you okay? You seem like you were in a fight or something." His face was... Weird, to say it in the nicest way I could think of at the time. His right eye was glowing orange and had a crack emerging from the top that went up his head. His left eye was glowing blue and had a crack emerging from the bottom and going down his face. He was wearing a light tan turtle neck with a black overcoat, black pants, and black shoes. He had a tag thing on his coat with writing on it, but I couldn't read.
"I am fine. My magic is wearing thin. So when I use it my face cracks a bit. My name is Dr. W. D. Gaster. I created you."
"So you're like my father?"
"Yes. These are your brothers Sans and Papyrus." As he said their names he pointed at them. That's when I saw his hands. And naturally, as someone who just came to life, I freaked. His hands had holes in them! I tried to back into the wall, but my legs wouldn't work and Sans stopped me before I could.
"Hey hey. Calm down sis. It's okay."
"WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS HANDS!!!!?"
"THEY'VE ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT. WE DON'T KNOW WHY THOUGH. IT'S A STORY HE'S UNCOMFORTABLE WITH TELLING US." His voice was bearable now.
Sans formed this bar thing that I didn't understand what it was.
"She has five HP dad. I thought she was supposed to have twenty." Sans put the bar thing away.
"She was. I suppose the low HP is due to the number of failures with her code."
"But we only made three before her. She's the fourth."
Gaster went to speak, but I was confused about what they were talking about. After all, it was about me. "Ahem.. I'm the fourth what?"
They hesitated. "You're the fourth attempt at a.... Skeleton-girl."
" You are my fourth attempt at making a sister for Sans and Papyrus. The other three failed while in development. But Sans is right. You are supposed to have twenty HP." I gave him a confused look. What was HP? "Health Points. It's our interpretation of how long we can survive in a FIGHT. I'm presuming that with every fail the HP went down by five."
"Makes sense. Five times four is twenty. And twenty divided by four is five. Simple math."
"Yes."
Papyrus walked over and stood next to Sans. He was taller than Sans, yet he was the younger brother.
"CAN YOU SAY MY NAME? CAN YOU SAY PAPYRUS?"
That's when I discovered my lisp. Plus his name was a little difficult for me to say. "Paplututh." What?!
"It appears she has a lisp."
"Noting." Sans wrote something down on a piece of paper. "How about you try saying Sans."
"Thanth."
"Alright. We call Gaster Dadster. Cause he's our dad and his name is Gaster. So try saying Dadster."
"Dadther." What am I saying?
"Waiting for the long blabber your about to say so I can take note."
"Daughter test number four is functioning and appears to have a lisping situation..."
He went on for another half hour. I didn't understand how Sans was able to take notes so fast. When Dad was done he and Sans did some more tests on me. But I like to call it helping me to learn to walk and do stuff like that. Sans even explained to me the history of humans and monsters. I'll tell it to you:
'Right now, humans and monsters rule the earth in unison. One day, humans was stricken with a great sickness. After a long search, the monsters found the cure to the sickness. The humans were grateful and treated the monsters like family from that day on.'
So it wasn't unusual to find mixed families of humans and monsters. We were all equal. And Mt. Ebott, was a vacationing spot for locals and tourists. Monsters were everywhere in the world, not just the town surrounding the mountain. In fact, monsters were so common that even angels and demons showed themselves.
Throughout the next week or two Sans and Gaster taught me what I needed to know outside. When I finally went out, well, let's leave that for the next part...
