Lost In His Arms-(A One Direction Fan Fiction)

Chapter 1

Hey guys, this is my first ever fan fic so please don't judge it too harshly:) Um, yeah so hope you guys enjoy it!

All my life the only thing I couldn't understand was music. The way the notes came together to make a song or sound amazed me. For me, music was my life until the day I met him. His green eyes sparkled with cheekiness and excitement. His face lit up with excitement as he saw me and he immediately embraced me in a massive hug. I cried into his shoulders and he looked at me in concern. He was obviously once important to me but I couldn't remember. I continued to cry in frustration. I just couldn't remember.......

Walking through the hall I gave myself a little pep talk. 'This is it, today is the big day,' I thought to myself as I stood in front of the door which read Music 2. Before I could open the door, I felt someone grab me from behind and blindfold me. "Guess who!" a shrill voice cried behind me. I began to panic and thrash around wildly trying to knock over whoever was grabbing me. But before I could scream my lungs out, I felt someone grab me by my shoulders and spin me around. I tried to keep from getting dizzy but it wasn't working. I staggered and tried to keep my balance but found myself knocking into someone.

I was satisfied when I heard a groan and I reached over to rip the blindfold off me. "Of course I should have known!" I cried as saw Zayn sprawled on the floor. Turning around I saw the rest of the gang. They burst out laughing as they saw how pissed I was. Watching Niall help Zayn up, I began telling them off. "Seriously, you guys couldn't have picked a worse time to prank me! As if I wasn't nervous enough already!" Harry walked up to me and placed an arm around my shoulder. "Calm down princess, it was just a joke." I angrily shoved him off, nearly toppling him over. I looked over to see Zayn wincing and I came over to him and asked if he was o.k. Grinning he replied, "Sure, but next time don't thrash around that crazily." I shoved him playfully, but he was too quick and I ended up on the floor.

Louis extended his hand towards me and asked, "So what's the deal? Why so uptight?" My cheeks burned with embarrassment as I replied, "I am so not uptight! But if you must know, I have a music exam right now!" Louis shrugged and said, "So?" Sighing, I opened my mouth to explain but Niall intervened and said, "Give her a break Louis. This exam is going to test whether she's good enough to attend this totally awesome music college." Turning towards me, he gave me a grin but I just blushed and looked away. Louis mumbled, what I think was an apology, and looked down at the floor. I managed to mumble a thank you to Niall before Harry intervened and said, "Well um, the reason why we blindfolded you was because we wanted to give you this."

With that, Niall presented me with a small velvet padded box. I opened it to see a silver necklace which bore my initials. "Aw, that is sooo sweet!" I squealed as I gave each of them a hug. I asked Niall to help me put it on. Brushing back my hair, I felt Niall's hands brush against my neck; it sent shivers down my spine and I felt my heart quicken its pace. Fixing my hair, I watched as the boys stood back and admired my new necklace. "Beautiful," I heard Niall mumble under his breath. I felt myself blush at that compliment and I turned to see Niall blush and quickly turn his head away.

"Thanks guys, this is an amazing gift!" I said trying to break the awkward silence. "No problem love!" they replied at the same time. I laughed and took another deep breath, relaxing my shoulders I pulled open the door and turned to face the boys once more. "Wish me luck!" They stood waving and rubbing their necks as they each took turns to wish me luck. "Good Luck!" "Break a leg, although not literally!" "All the best!" "You can do it!" "Knock their socks off!" "Do us proud!" I laughed at that last remark and walked in. I tried to stay focus on what was at hand but all I could think about was those intense green eyes.

Relaxing my shoulders I stepped in front of the judges. I swallowed nervously as they fiddled with their papers. 'Was I really up to it? I mean what if they don't like it?' I thought to myself; that did it, I began hyperventilating. "Um excuse me miss, but are you alright?" I turned my attention to the small male judge. "Yeah sure, just great!" I said trying to sound confident. "Ok then, let's get started than shall we?" I nodded my head so vigoursely that I accidently dropped my papers. I slapped my forehead and smiled sheepishly as I bent down to pick up my papers. 'This is so not going well for me' I thought to myself.

Once I was done one of the judges asked, "So what is your name?" I tried to tell her but I was so nervous that I couldn't speak. I turned pale and began to blush with humiliation. "Her name's Kayla and we're her backup singers!" Whipping my head around, I saw none other than harry, Louis, Niall, Zayn and Liam. They all waved at me and I rushed forward, embracing them all in a hug. I began to sob with relief and one of the judges looked at them in confusion and whispered, "Is she alright?" Louis stepped up and said, "She's just being a stress-head!" Niall elbowed him in the stomach and said, "She's fine she just needs a moment."

The judges waved their hand dismissively and I felt myself being dragged away from the small crowd that had gathered around me. Harry looked at me in concern and asked, "What's up princess?" I wiped the tears from my eyes and blushed with humiliation. "Um nothing, I just got a little overwhelmed I guess," I mumbled under my breath. Louis laughed and exclaimed, "A little?" Before I could lay my hands on him Liam stepped in and said, "Oh cut it out Louis, honestly can't you see how stressed she is?" Louis grumbled under his breath as Zayn stepped up and said,"Don't worry love it is gonna be O.K., now that we're here." I looked around in confusion as they burst out laughing.

Niall flashed me a smile and I felt myself blush; Ugh! I hated when I did that! Louis put his arm around me and winked at me, "Yep that's right meet your new backup singers," he said as he pointed at each of the boys. I felt tears forming in my eyes and I was on the verge of bursting into tears when Niall grabbed me and spun me around. "Hey no more tears," he whispered, "I think you've cried enough today," he added teasingly. Shoving him playfully I took a deep breath and walked back into the room. "I'm ready," I said as I turned and winked at the boys. The judges smiled and looked and asked, "And what will you be performing today?" I looked back at the boys and they gave me thumbs up. "Today I, I mean we, will be performing'the other side' by Jason Derulo.

I heard Louis groan but was satisfied when I heard Liam telling him off. Taking a deep breath I walked back stage and the boys followed. Niall turned towards me and said, "Alright love, so how's this going to work?" I smiled and began giving orders. "O.K well, Zayn and Harry since you two have the strongest voices you will be singing first and second verse. Then all four of you guys will sing chorus...." With that remark Louis stopped mucking around on the stage and asked, "Um, hello what about me?" I smiled mischievously and said sweetly, "Well Louis, since you obviously like mucking about, um how about being a dancer? Maybe we could wear you out for once? Hmmmm, K?" With that everyone began cracking up laughing at the thought of Louis dancing on stage.

Louis blushed beet red and sloped off muttering dark words. I shook my head and turned my attention to the rest of the gang. Grinning I said, "Well then let's get started shall we?" As we walked on stage I couldn't help but feel excited. This was going to be my big break; finally my talent was going to be recognized! Little did I know, how wrong I was.
