"Now these are swords, well, pretend they're swords." said Loru, handing me one.

"I don't want to hurt you, Elder Loru." I said, trying not to crush the elder's spirits.

"No big deal. I still got skills for this. Why don't you go train Kelendros, Neyin?" he told me, then asked Neyin if he wished to teach today. Neyin looked at Kelendros, took a deep breath, then nodded for Kelendros to follow him. Kelendros looked at me tiredly, then hopped off to follow Neyin. While I was distracted, Elder Loru hit me with the rod.

    "Ow!" I exclaimed.

"Don't get distracted! It's no good for battle. You want to train to be the best don't you?" said Elder Loru, getting in his battle stance. I followed his footing, and held my ground. I dodged most of his blows, I stumbled on the last few because I was getting tired.

"Can we practice some more tomorrow. I'm getting tired." I complained.

"No! You must train all you can today! Now get back in your stance!" he ordered. I gave a heavy sigh and got back in my stance.

Kelendros' POV

"Why don't you go train Kelendros, Neyin?" asked Elder Loru. Neyin looked at me, took a deep breath, then signaled me to follow him. I looked at Carmaderon with a sleepy look, then turned to follow Neyin.

So? How old are you? I asked, trying to strike a conversation. He stayed silent. I sighed. Do you even talk? No reply. I let out a long sigh. All of the sudden he threw his tail under me, I quickly jumped over the lashing tail. He nodded at my fast instincts. What was that for?! I hissed. Neyin just kept walking. Ugh... We finally entered a wooded area with a few obstacles in the trees and on the ground. Neyin swiftly turned around and attempted to jump on top of me. I dodged the attempt, rolling over onto my back beside him. He's five times my height! He will crush me doing things like this! Again and again he attempted to jump on top of me, the fourth time my wing got snagged under his front leg. Ow! Can't we do something else! This hurts! Neyin just shrugged, then walked over to a tree. He moved his head over to face the tree, signaling me to go over there. What? Climb it? Neyin nodded, meaning, 'climb it'. I sighed, lowered my head, then trudged over to the tree. I dug my claws into the bark of the tree and started to climb, my white scales glistening in the glare of the sun. It's actually pretty easy. I think to myself, climbing higher and higher. When I finally hit the top I realized... I can't fly yet! Do I climb down? Maybe... Or do I have to jump down and hope I fly? I'll stick with climbing down. Just as I thought that, I fell. I can't fly!!!! I cry. All of the sudden, my wings fold out, catching me in the air. I start to slowly move my wings with the patterns of the wind, up and down, middle, up and down, middle, up and down. It got easier and easier. I had finally hit the ground, safe and sound. I jumped back in the air in joy.
