Ellen's POV

I was safe. I was finally safe. After the Nazi invaded denmark I thought I would never feel this way again. I loved Mr. Hendrick for doing this for me and my family. At this point I would do anything to show my gratitude. A gruff voice belonging to Mr. Hendrick called, "Sweden is mere miles away but there is a Nazi ship close behind us. I might need you, Ellen to help me with the ship, you would have to pose as my daughter. We look close enough." My heart rose with the news. Tward the end of his warning, my heart dropped to the floor. I slowly crawled out of my safe area to help 'Uncle' Hendrick. I moved the parts of the ship to move faster. At this point, I could see the trees upon Sweden's borders. The Nazi yelled at us in their language "Halte!" We did. We had no other choice but to get shot. "We realized that you were moving towards sweden, not to the fishing area. You must have Jews on the ship" The Nazi informed us with disgust. Hendrick replied cooly "No, it is just me and my daughter, I told her we could see Sewed together, she has been asking for years." The Nazi took their dogs and sniffed around the ship. When they got to the part my family and the other Jews were hiding they turned away. "You look nothing like your daughter" A particularly tall Nazi informed Hendrick, "You seem like such a nice girl, would be a shame if you father was hiding something." I glared at the tall Nazi, over double my height "He's not, neither am I. I happen to look like my mother. It happens with children." I replied icely. A gust of wind hit the ship, smelling of sea salt. It tugged at the collar of my dress and pulled it lower. As I reached out to pull it back up the other Nazi grinned evilly and said, "What have we here?" I realized that for a fraction of a second the corner of my star of David was revealed. Even if i took it off, the cheap metal made an imprint. He pulled the collar of my shirt down to reveal the full star of David imprint on my neck. They both laughed and one said, "You thought you could hide it from us, girl?" he smirked, "Well you thought wrong!" He pulled out a handgun and aimed a my head. "Any last words?" I thought hard, "No Matter what you do, no matter how many you kill, the Jewish and many others will not stop. We will never stop fighting back. I am just one person, I barely matter, but because of this, you have given others the will to fight." I said boldly, "because of you th-" I was cut off by the sound of a bullet entering my skull and a scream from Mr. Hendrick and a cruel laugh from the Nazi. "She's dead, his cargo is gone. Let him go to Sweden for all I care. That'll teach you to talk like that to us, girl." Hendrick picked up my lifeless body and performed a burial at sea. He went to the place my parents were hiding and muttered, "She is dead, I'm so sorry."
