"I have no idea who could be after her," Kalea gritted lowly. She was incredibly angry and clearly struggling to stay in human form. Her wolf characteristics were starting to show. Her eyes were darkening, her teeth were now sharp, ready to rip anything to shreds, and her finger nails were sharp and pointy.

"Let's go for a run, Lea," Elliot suggested removing his shirt, "you think better when running."

"Sorry for making you sad, mommy," Marley whispered under her breath leaning against Lovella who wasn't paying attention. "I was just trying to be a good girl and listen to auntie Cassandra."

Kalea stopped pacing the room and kneeled in front of a teary eyed Marley. "You didn't make me mommy sad. I'm proud of you for keeping your promise and listening to auntie. Continue to keep your promises. I just want to keep Cassy safe and I couldn't do that without the note. I'm sorry for yelling at you," Kalea apologized kissing her cheek.

"Now me and your daddy will be going on a run. You and Lovella will go to training, okay?" Kalea said before standing to follow Elliot out of the door.

"Annabella!?" I heard a familiar voice call from outside. I jumped up from the sofa knowing that it was my best friend, Carmen.

I ran outside and greeted Carmen by flopping into her arms. It was still the first week of winter break, but I felt like I hadn't seen Carmen for an eternity.

"Hi, Bell," she yelled holding me tight with as much enthusiasm as I had. "How's everything going?" She asked locking the doors of her Range Rover.

"Fine," I half lied. I was doing well but I was greatly worried about my sister, Lovella, and Marley, and more worried about whether or not me and Adonis would be able to prevent it from happening.

As if on cue, Adonis walled out of the house holding both of the girls' hands. However, they immediately unlatched from him when they saw Carmen. Carmen was the oldest of 6 children so she was amazing with kids.

"Hey you two!"
Carmen yelled hugging them tightly. Even though Carmen was a close family friend, she still didn't know about the fact that we were werewolves. I told Carmen everything, but I wasn't ready to lose my best friend.

"Wow Adonis. I don't see you in 4 days and you act like you don't know me anymore," Carmen joked frowning.

"Oh come on, Car. You know I had to let you hug everyone else so I can get the longest hug of them all," he chuckled wrapping his arms around her and enclosed her tightly in them. I felt a light burning in my heart that only raged on the longer they hugged. Once Carmen started giggling uncontrollably, I grabbed Lovella's and Marley's hand and lead them inside to leave Adonis and Carmen outside.

I stormed into the kitchen, too angry and annoyed to notice that Marley and Lovella were following me. "Are you jealous?" Marley snickered.

"Could never be!" I whined inadvertently, "Adonis is my boyfriend. Not hers and Carmen is my best friend. Not his."

The two of them started giggling to each other. "What's so funny?" I growled.

"One of your eyes are red," Lovella muttered still giggling.

"And the other is purple."

"And your teeth and nails are sharp."

"And you growled. You don't growl that much," Marley said planting her hands on her hips.

They were right. My wolf wanted so bad to come out and the angrier we got, the more he wanted to come out.

"Love and Mar, go in... In the l-living r-room," I stuttered trying to concentrate on calming my anger.

Adonis is ours. Adonis loves us.

But, of course, my wolf was getting the best of me. As I was starting to shift, I heard calming voices behind me. I turned around to see Hannah and Holly smiling worriedly at me.

"You need help?" Holly asked.

"Obviously, Holly. She's about to shift in the kitchen," Hannah said walking to my side and soothingly petting me.

"Calm down, Bella," Holly called.

"Whatever is bothering you isn't that bad. Just calm down and we can talk about it, okay," Hannah kissed my forehead lightly like Mama Charlotte always does when I'm on the verge of shifting.

Before I knew it, I was back to normal, lying on the kitchen floor in Hannah and Holly's arms. After a few minutes of silence, Carmen and Adonis entered the kitchen.

"Annabella, you okay?" Carmen said kneeling beside us.

"Yea, Carmen don't worry," I smiled not wanting to tell anyone what actually happened.

"You sure?" She said petting my head knowing I loved it. I nodded before looking at Adonis who looked back down at my knowingly.

Hugging Carmen made you angrier than I thought it would. I just love it when you're angry. Wish I would've came earlier to see you angry.

He mind linked me humorously. Without a word, I stood keeping eye contact with Adonis.

I was not JEALOUS

Without warning anyone, I sped after Adonis who ran out of the kitchen as fast as he could.
