A/N~ This will be a short chapter! I was hoping for a minimum for 1,000 words, but I don't think I'll get to it.

"So I'll see you later!" The boy cheered before taking a sip of his ordered lemonade. You smiled at him one last time before entering the kitchen in the back and doing a victory dance, which you haven't done in years. One of the other employees who was twirling a pizza on his fingers only gave you a confused glance before returning to his work. You stopped as Bryan returned to the kitchen with empty pizza tray with crumbs and abandoned toppings adorning to greasy display.

"You look happy. Did you finally get a date or something. About time-" You cut him off before he could delve into his rant about how you need to talk to and meet new people.

"Gross, no," you playfully kicked his shin, "Even better!"

Bryan turned his back on you to wash of the messy trays, "So what's the news then?"

"I think I figured out where a certain alien has been hiding," you said in a sing-song-y tone, "Those weird ladies who live by the beach found her after she trashed the house and escaped. The kid, Steven, invited me over later to see her again."

"Why is this exciting to you then?"

"What if I...well, I wouldn't say kidnapped, but removed the peridot from their home and use her as proof for alien life," you grinned widely, proud of your scheme. Bryan gave you a look of disgust.

"That basically is kidnapping! Dude, I know she's an alien but you can't take her."

"Well, the beach ladies are keeping her prisoner in their weird house!"

"I don't care about them getting arrested! But if you go through with this, I swear, you'll be serving time for life."

"That's just for murder," you crossed your arms, "Look, I need the money. Since renting the condo I've been basically broke. I don't know how much longer I can hold this job for anyways. Hell, I probably won't be able to go to college! Bryan, I need this."

The two of you had a stare down. His eyes were narrowed at you and your face was blank but your eyes held strength. Bryan turned away from you to dry the trays.

"If you get arrested, don't expect me to bail you out."

You smiled triumphantly before glancing over at the clock on the wall. Its annoying roman numerals read 12:00. Your early shift finally was over.

"We're done here," you blurted out and dragged Bryan out of the restaurant.

He loudly protested, saying he forgot his coat, but you were making your way down to the tranquil beach. You passed by various stores, an arcade, and a doughnut place you've never seen before. You paused to look at the small shop. The sign read The Big Donut.

"Hm," You observed the interior through the window. Bryan was expressing how annoyed he was with you all through the while. Two employees were seen. A short, blonde girl with curly hair was handing a kid a bag. On the other hand, the male with a tuft of curly hair and huge gauges leaned back in a chair. It appeared as is he was sleeping. You were an awful employee, but not that bad, "I don't think I've ever seen this place before."

As in on cue the door swung open and the bells on it jingled. You looked to the side and there stood young Steven from earlier.

"Hey! It's you. (Y/N)!"

"Hey, Steven," You grinned and then paused. How did he know your name?

Then it hit you. And you totally facepalmed internally at yourself. Your name tag still was pinned onto your shirt with little drawings bordering it.

"Were you gonna come over to see peridot? I was just getting some doughnuts for us to share later! I told her you were coming and she didn't really seem to like it. But it's okay! She'll get used to you. In fact, she finally came out of the bathroom just before I went to pick these delicious treats up. And I got lion lickers for my pet!"

"Lion lickers...for a pet?" You repeated.

"My pet lion!" he chimed.

You sputtered, baffled by the fact this child could possibly have tamed a lion. Who knows, maybe it was possible. Everyone he lived with was known to be weird in the first place.

He told you some of his gem stories but you ignored him. Instead, you though about your plot. Was it going to work?

'Hang on. How am I even going to execute this?'

A/N~ Only 750 words...I feel shame.
