I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way

Chapter 2

Kankri was woken up at around noon time when he heard a loud bang come from outside. It's the first day of summer break and this is what he's greeted with? He rolls over in his bed and covers his head with a pillow in hope that it will block the noise.

"CAN'T GET ME YOUR MAGIC IS TOO WEAK!"

"That's no fair!"

"YEAH IT IS! ITS IN THE RULES!"

"Eridan stop fucking around with the neighbor and come help us!"

Kankri recognized one of those voices as his younger brother Karkat. He sits up in his bed, surrounded by red blankets and pillows. Since he couldn't fall asleep again he may as well check up on Karkat.

Kankri rolls out of bed and his feet hit the hard wood floor with a thud. He runs his fingers through his hair before grabbing some random sweatpants and throwing them on before combing the tangles out of his brown fluffy hair.

Once he figured he was appealing enough he marched down the stairs and out of the house. The bright sun rays were too much for him at first but he was quick to get used to the light. Unlike Karkat, he was not willing to go out and be social in the summer. Its not like he really had anyone to do anything with anyways.

The sound of his brothers laughter could be heard echoing through the quiet neighborhood. He sighs and walks to the side of the house where Karkat had another boy pinned to the ground. There was a third boy too, one appearing to be around kankri's age. He walks over to to the three and shoots karkat a galare that says 'get off of the kid'. Karkats quick to get the message and climb off of Eridan. The third boy is just sitting there laughing as he was watching the whole thing unravel.

"I'm sorry, was Karkat being a nuisance?" Kankri says with a sigh.

"WHAT! WHY DO YOU AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME THAT IM BEING A PEST? UNLIKE YOU, I'M ACTUALLY MAKING FRIENDS." He smiles smugly.

"THIS IS ERIDAN." He gestures to the boy he just had on the ground.

"AND THIS IS CRONUS." He points to the taller male who was laughing before.

"Hey. We just moved in next door." Cronus says with a small smile on his face.

Kankri nods his head. "Nice to meet you two. I'm Kankri, Karkats older brother." He says while maintaining eye contact.

"KANKRI IS A WEIRDO. JUST IGNORE HIM." Karkat says and practically shoves himself in between the older Boys.

Kankri takes that as his cue to leave and returns to the house. Cronus really wanted to keep talking to Kankri before he left but he lost his chance so he just watches him walk away.
