Chapter 1

" Hey Grandma I'm home." I yelled upstairs. Granny waddled down the staircase. "Those stairs are gonna kill me one of those days." she sighed. We headed into the kitchen. I set the basket on the table. i pulled out some fresh blueberry muffins. "Straight from the bakery." i said. Granny took it and sniffed. "Grab the butter." she ordered. In just a few moments the muffins were all gone. "That was deliscous." I said. "it's growing dark." she said. She looked out the window. "I'm so tried Granny." i gave her a kiss on the head. "Wear your hood!" she ordered. "yes Granny." I said. I climbed up the stairs into my room. I climbed into bed, wrapping my bright red hood around me. I shuddered as a pack of wolves howled. I could hear their voices echo. Ringing through the night. i closed my eyes, but I could'nt. everytime i closed them, I saw my mother and father. I saw them with suitcases in their hands, Pitiful looks on their faces. They waved goodbye to a little girl, swaddled in a bright red hood they had given her. That little girl stood there, tears in her eyes. her granny's hands on her shoulders. that little girl was me. Back when my parents left me, to go, God knows where. I squeezed onto my hood, trying to forget that painful image. the wolves howled again. i tried to sleep but just tossed and turned. i eventually climbed out of bed. I figured maybe some water would help. "Oof." I said as my hood caught on the door knob. I frowned, and not wanting to deal with another problem at the moment, Just untied it from my neck. I headed down the stairs. I went into the kitchen. I grabbed a glass of water. I hopped onto the counter and in a moment the glass was empty. I hopped off the counter and headed to the front door. i needed some fresh air. granny warned me to never leave the house at night without my hood on. I mean what was her deal. I rolled my eyes and opened the door. I stepped onto the porch. i smiled as i took in the night air. I looked up at the full moon. i felt a tingly feeling. my head became dizzy. I closed my eyes hoping to feel better. But when i opened them, my head was at waist level. I looked down at my hands, but instead of hands there were paws! Now i knew why Granny did'nt like me going out at night...because i was a werewolf!
