Chapter 4

"Hi im Red." i said as i shook the girls hand. "Welcome to Hempton Academy!" she said in a cheery voice. I shoved my hands in my pocket and fiddled with an old gum wrapper. I looked around. Mauve lockers lined the walls. Kids were reading books, talking, and laughing. "Come on." said Cindy, nudging me. "I'll show you our room." I smiled at Snow and we headed down the hall. I saw frilly girls in puffy, bright dresses smacking gum and clinging to cute guys. I never really was the dating type and with my granny still missing i was'nt in the mood for love. We went through large doors which led to the dorms. Large green doors with gold numbers painted on them lined the halls. We eventually came to one numbered 56. She twisted open the door. The room was a lot larger on the inside. There were two bunk beds. "I've been alone in this bunk for a while." she said. She headed to the one on my right. She plumped down onto the lower bed. It was covered in gold, silk sheets and matched all the other beds. "You can get the top." she said with a smile. I looked around the room spotting shoes, magazines, and dirty clothes scattered all around. Granny always tried to keep a clean household. " Do you ever...clean in here?" I asked. She laughed. "Well, I try and keep my stuff clean." she said. I scratched the back of my neck. "There are other girls in this room?" I asked. She nodded. I wasn't used to sharing a room with other people. " Oh you are just gonna love our other roomates!" she exclaimed. "Oh look here comes one now!" A girl about my age stepped into the room. She had brown hair (a little lighter than Cindys), She had pale skin, and was wearing a bright, yellow sundress. She smiled at me. "Hello." she said. "Hi." I replied with a wave of my hand. Cindy stood up. " Red this is our roomate belle." she said. "It's nice to meet you, and I'm glad your staying with us. I'd shake your hand but-" She adjusted her arms to reveal the large stack of books she was holding. "Oh, here let me help." I took the books from her. " Thanks." she said, "Can you just set them on the bed?" I headed over to the opposite bunk, when I heard a buzzing sound. " Whats tha-" before i could finish my sentence I got wacked in the back of my head. The books fell and I landed on my knees. " Now pay attention! You just knocked down our new roomate!" cried Cindy. She helped me up. I turned around to see the culprit, when a bright flash of light practically blinded me. When it went away it revealed a girl. She was pale, with blonde hair done up in a bun. She was wearing a green, short dress and green shoes. In her hands she held a glowing silver stick. "You'll have to excuse her." said Cindy, "She's a fairy. This is Tinkerbell."
