We Both Felt this Pain

Chapter 6: I'll Take Care of You

Lloyd's POV
It had been about 3 days since Zane and I confessed to each other. But, it felt like the nindroid was ignoring me. "I'm such an idiot!" I thought to myself as I walked down the hall. "I should've just kept my trap shut!"
I was so mad with myself that I actually stopped walking and banged my head against the wall.
Still furious with myself, I made my way down the hall. I then noticed that the door to Zane's room was wide open. I peeped inside and saw the Titanium nindroid laying on his bed, reading a book.
"Z-Zane?" I whispered softly. He turned his head away from his book, raising his eyebrows in surprise.
"Lloyd? What are you doing here?" he asked me.
"Oh, I was just walking by, though I would say hello" I replied. Suddenly, I started to feel dizzy and woozy, so I leaned against the door frame for support. Then it felt like something was dripping down your head.
"Lloyd, you're bleeding!" Zane exclaimed. I wiped the top of my head, blood staining on the sleeve of my hoodie. "What happened?"
"Oh, I hit my head on the way down the hall" I said.
"Come on, sit down" he stated. I nodded, trying to walk over to Zane's bed. I was just about to fall when Zane got up and helped me walk. He layed me down on the bed, wiping some of the blood off of my head with a cloth he picked up. Then he quickly went into his bathroom and grabbed a roll of bandages. He sat down next to me and started wrapping them around my head.
"Lloyd, what really happened? I know for a fact that there's no possible way that you could've hit your head by accident in that hallway" he asked me. I shifted uncomfortably, my cheeks heating up.
"It's just....I was angry with myself" I replied.
"Why? Why are you mad at yourself?" Zane asked, putting the bandages on his bedside table.
"Zane, ever since we both said that we....l-like each other, it seems you've been ignoring me. Why is that?" I asked. Zane said nothing at first, then let out a loud sigh.
"I just......felt a little weird, that's all" he answered simply.
"Oh...if you feel that way, I can just...." I trailed off.
"No, no! It's alright! Besides, I'm enjoying your company right now" the nindroid said. I smiled, then let out a loud yawn.
"You should get some rest. I'll be outside if you need me" Zane said. Just as Zane was about to leave, I stopped him.
"Zane, wait!"
"Hmm?"
"Can you.....s-stay here?" I asked innocently. He smiled, walking back towards me without saying a word. Then he layed beside me, placing a white blanket on top of us. I then snuggled into his chest, enjoying the heat coming off his body. He wrapped his strong arms around me. His arms felt so strong, I felt so safe in them.
"I'll take care of you, Lloyd. I promise" he said, breaking the silence.
"Thank you, Zane. For everything" I replied, feeling like the happiest person in the world. He smiled down at me, then kissed my forehead, showing affection.
Suddenly, a great urge came over me. I look up at Zane, you looked down at me. Then, he suddenly kissed me. I was a bit surprised at first, but then I melted into it.
We both then backed out of it, looking deep into each other's eyes.
"Well, I wasn't expecting that" Zane said sarcastically.
"Yeah, right!" I exclaimed. We both chuckled. I then wrapped my arms around his neck, placing my head on his chest. Zane pulled the blanket up more, so that we were both fully covered.
"I.....love you, Lloyd" Zane whispered into my ear.
"I love you too, Zane" I replied, without hesitation. And with that, I fell asleep, feeling like nothing could ever go wrong.
With Zane, I never felt afraid or scared. I felt like I could do anything. And to me, that's all that matters.
