Chapter 10...

"Oh come on girls, what do you want to watch?" I ask Jaylah and Abbey who have been looking at the movie list for over 20mins. "Shhhhh were thanking!" They both yelled at me. I rolled my eyes and started pacing again, "ok i thank we got it" Abbey says as they come up beside me. Jaylah puts her arm around me and I kiss her on her forehead. "Alright then what is it?" I ask starting to walk to the window to pay. "Your next" Jaylah smiles and looks up at me. "Your next?" I asked looking at them both. "You sure? It's supposed to be really good and scary" I say lifting my eyebrows at them. "Yep" "umm yeah" they said. "Ok then, Your Next it is" I said and turned to a young woman behind the desk "I need three tickets for your next please" she nods and I give her the money and she hands me the tickets. "Thank you, hope you enjoy your movie" she smiles and we walk inside. I hand there tickets to them "ok so do yall want anything? Like popcorn candy or a drink?" I ask and look down to see what room the movie is in. "Umm yeah some popcorn and two sprites will do" Jaylah smiles and gives me a quick peck on the lips. "Ok well yall can go on in. its that way" i pointed to the door. "ill be right in after I get your things" they nod and walked off. 30mins later I'm watching the movie with Jaylah's death grip around my arm. A guy jumps out on screen and both girls scream. I laugh as Jaylah puts her head behind my shoulder. I pat her leg and take a bite of popcorn. "How can you watch this and not jump?" She asked peeking up to look at the screen just to scream again and hide her face. "It's a good movie, I'm happy y'all picked it" I said laughing. I look over to see Abbey hiding behind some guy next to her. He looks at me and I give him a look and He nod and smirks then turns back to the movie. After the movie we took abbey home and headed to her place so she could see her brother who has been keeping to himself for to long for her liking. As she had said when Abbey got out. Turns out there not together, just fuck buddy's. and she hasnt seen him in two days. but when she told us that, I could see she wanted more. I pull in her driveway and something feels wrong. "Stay here, I want to make sure it's just him here." I said opening my door. "Why? It's my house and it's just my brother, he don't hang with his friends here because I don't like it." She says getting out anyways. I roll my eyes and we walk to the door, she goes to put her key in and the door opens. She looks up at me "he must have just left it open" and starts to walk in. I move passed her so she's behind me. We make are way through the house, no sign of James anywhere. "James?!" Jaylah yells. No answer. "Guess he's out." She says and walks to her room to get something's. I wait in the kitchen. A few minutes later she comes down "ready? Oh wait! I forgot" she says and turns around. I watch her run upstairs and Halfway up she trips, she falls forward, putting her arms out to catch herself. I jump up and run to her as her head hits. "Jaylah!" She started to slide down the stairs When I get to her. she was unconscious from the impact of the hit. There is alil blood coming from her head. "Jaylah sweetie, wake up! Jaylah!" I tap her cheeks and shake her shoulders slightly. She doesn't wake up. I pick her up and take her to the couch and lay her down, sliding a pillow under her head. I run to the bathroom to get a wet rag. I run back to her and kneel down on floor the beside her, placing the cold rag over the blood. "Jaylah love, wake up please" I beg. Not being able to stand it any longer I pick her up and take her to my truck and ran to my side to get in. I turn on my truck and throw it in to reverse. Spinning gravel as I make my way out of the driveway and heading towards the hospital. "Jaylah baby please wake up! please be okay love, I love you" i repeat this for the 3 minutes it took to the hospital, the longest 3 minutes of my life. I park at the ER entrance, slammed my truck into park. I ran over to her side and got her out. Running as fast as I can without hurting her, I go in. "Someone help me! She fail and hit her head please help me!" I yelled. Nurse ran up to me "oh my gosh! What happened?" She asked. "She fail down her stairs" I told her as she turned to call it in. A doctor came with two male nurses Pushing a hospital bed. I laid her down on it as the nurse told them what I said. "Sir, how long has she been out? When did this happen?" The doctor said looking over Jaylah. "10 minutes maybe 15" I answered him. "Ok, let's get her to the room" he says and the two men push her down the hall. I follow close beside her holding her hand. "Your going to be ok love, it's going to be ok" I told her "you have to be."

My head hurts, why dose my head hurt? I open my eyes to get up, only to realize I'm not in my bed. Where am I? I look around and see Skylar asleep in a chair with his head laying on the foot of the hospital bed. Hospital? "Skylar?" My voice sounded horse. "Skylar?" I ask louder and more clearer. He jumps up looking around. Then turns to see that I'm awake. "Oh my gosh baby!" He yells and runs to me. Hugging me so tight I can barely breathe "are you ok? How do you feel? Are you dizzy? Are you hurting?" "Skylar, please one at a time" I interrupted him. "I'm sorry love, it's just I been so worried about you" he says and kisses my head. "Worried? Why, what happened? Why am I in a hospital bed?" I asked. "You fail running up the stairs to your room and hit your head" I lifted my hand to touch the side of my head, ouch! "That explains the headache" I said and lay back against my pillows. "I'll go tell the doctor your awake" skylar gets up and walks to the door. "Skylar how long have I been in here? I ask him before he walks out. He looks back at me "two days love, two long days" he says frowning. He walks back to me and kisses me "I love you. I've been so worried" he says and kisses me again. "I'll be right back" he turns and walks into the hallway. I can see him talking to a nurse, then he turns back and comes and sits down beside me on the bed. "The doctor will be in here soon" he kisses my head again. "Ok" is all I say. Two days? Just over a fall? Where was my brother? "Skylar has James been here?" I asked looking up at him. "Yeah, he's been in and out alot." He says and looks up at a clock that's on the far wall. "He should be coming in soon" I nod and lay my head on his chest. A few moments later a knock comes from the door. I look to see who it was and see James. "Sister!" He yells and comes to my side and hugs me. "Don't you ever do that again! You had us so worried!" He says not letting me go. "I'm sorry" I say hugging him back. He looks up at me with watery eyes. "Oh please don't cry I'm ok really" I say and pull him into another hug. "Knock Knock" someone says from the door, I look and see a tall dark skinned man with a white coat on. "Hi I'm Dr. Smith." How are you feeling?" He asked coming up beside me, James move to the side to let him come closer. "Ok, just a little headache" I say. He nods and looks at the side of my head. "Well your lucky, you had just a mild concussion that is why you stayed out for 2 days. Small cut on your head and a good size bruise. You may have a headache a few more days but other than that you are just fine" he says smiling. "Thank you" I say back at him. "Oh thank you so much Doc" Skylar says shaking the doctor's hand. "Yes thank you very much" James says and shakes his hand as well. "Your welcome. Ill have your release papers In here soon" he smiles and walks out, shutting the door behind him. "See I told yall I was okay" I said smiling up at the two men in my life. "Yeah you did" skylar says kissing me. "I'm happy your ok sis" James says hugging me and kissing my cheek. I smile at them as a nurse walks in with my papers and some headache medicine. I take it as she starts to take out my IV. James eyes get bigger and holds his stomach "thank I'm gonna be sick" he says and runs out of the room. I start laughing and Skylar joins in. "pansy" he says under his breath. 25 minutes later we are at my house sitting at the kitchen table as James starts to cook something to eat. "What are we having?" I ask as my stomach growls. " steak, baked potato, macaroni and cheese, and rolls. And for dessert blackberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream" he says smiling. "Hmmm sounds deelishis. I'm starving" I say patting my stomach as another grows starts. Skylar is sitting beside me with his arm around my waist. "God how I've missed you" he says and kisses me on the temple. I smile and lean into him letting him hold me. We set like that for 35 minutes, him holding me and all of us talking. Every now and then James would let out a cuss as grease popped up and hit him. After the food was done we all went into the living room to watch a movie. "Hey James, why anit you and Abbey dating?" I asked as I remembered Abbeys face when she said they wasnt dating, just fuck buddies. He looked at me and then looked down "I don't thank she likes me more then that" he says sadly. Me and Skylar laugh. "Really dude? She's crazy about you" Skylar says and rolling his eyes at James. "What?" James asked. "She really likes you, I seen the look on her face when she thought the same about you" I said smiling at my brothers shocked face. James jumps up and runs to the stairs "WALK!" Skylar and I yell at the same time. James stops and looks back at us "gosh you sound like my parents" he says walking up the stairs. "Where are you going? The movies about to start!" I call after him. "To call Abbey! I'm gonna ask her to come over to watch it with us! Then to ask her out!" He yells down the steps and shuts his door. I look up to Skylar from where my head is laying on his lap. "Nice team work lover" I say smiling at him. "Yes nice team work indeed my love" he says back smiling. He runs his fingers through my hair and I closed my eyes enjoy the feeling. My head had stopped hurting at dinner which I was very thankful for. I open my eyes as Skylar moves so he is laying beside me on the couch. He puts his arm around me and I snuggle up against him laying my head on his chest. I fail asleep breathing in his scent and to the sound of his heart beat.

I played with Jaylah's hair as she fell asleep against me. "I love you Jaylah, please never leave me" I whispered. She mumbled something and hugged me tighter and I hugged her back and closed my eyes. I was woke up with the sound of a door shutting, I looked down and seen Jaylah still asleep. i turned my head to see who had came in or out and seen Abbey and James walking in. I nod at them and James nods back. Abbey walks over and looks down at us as if we were a box of free kittens. "Awe y'all are to cute!" She yells. "Shhhhh!" Me and James say at the same time. But it was to late, Jaylah opened her eyes and looked up at me and smiled. "Hi" she says with sleep in her voice. "Hey" I say and kiss her forehead. She turns and looks back to see Abbey looking over us and James behind her. "I'm sorry I woke you up, I'm just so happy that you're okay" Abbey says and squats down beside her and hugs her. "It's ok, it's nice seeing you here" Jaylah said and sits up as I try to get up. She looks at me and I smile "ill be right back, going to the restroom" and kissed her head. She nods and starts talking to Abbey. I look and James and nod tellin him follow me. We walk into the kitchen and he sits down at the table as I go get something to drink out of the fridge. "So. Have you asked her yet?" I ask turning back around to him. "Umm no, not yet. She just got here. I haven't even really talked to her" he sayed playing with some napkins that's laying on the table. I nod, takin a drink of my sprite. I sit it down and go to the restroom. After I'm done I wash my hands and go back and sit down and the table with Him. "Umm can I ask you something?" James asked before I even get my drink. "yeah sure, what's up?" He was acting alittle strange maybe it's because of Abbey. "Well umm I-I need help" he says looking down at his hands. "Help? With what?" I asked raising my eyebrow at him. Yeah something's up, I thought to myself. "There is a-a thing, and I jus-just need help" "what the hell you talking about James? What do you need help with, and quit your damn stuttering it's getting on my nerves" I said getting a little aggravated. I'm not a people person, so when someone stutters or can't talk straight it pushes my button and I can't stand it. "Umm well, I need some money" that surprised me. "Money? How much money? And why?" I asked. He was still looking down at his hands. "4000$" he said closing his eyes and laying his head on the table. "4000$! What the hell for?" I was trying to keep my voice down, but him giving me these short freaking answers was one of my buttons that he was pushing over and over. "Shhhh damn man. I don't want them to here!" He whispers harshly. "Well then start fucking talking right!" I whisper back to him hitting the table. He blows out some air that seems like he has been holding and looks up at me. "Okay where we used to live I hang out with these guys that's old hardcore drugs. Everything started at pot, pills,cocaine, meth, all of it. Hell I was doing alot of pills and pot with them." He stopped and looked at me with shame in his eyes. I just nodded. He turns his head back to his hands and started again. "Well I was out of pills so I asked him to front me some, and he did because we been friends for awhile now. But I had stopped taking them two weeks before, I wanted to sale them and get some money so me and my sister could leave that place." I watched him as he got up at started pacing back and forth. "So you never payed him did you? That's why you need the money." I said putting it together. He nods. "James I don't have that kind of money, you know that. I don't even have a job. I got fired a week before yall moved here" I said wishing I had a bud light or some moonshine. "Yeah I know you don't. But I nee help getting it" he said stoping in front of me. "They called me three days ago, I don't even know how they got my number. I never had a phone there" he shook his head and started pacing again. "What did he say?" I asked getting up and walking to see if the girls was still talking in the living room. They were. I turn back to him and cross my arms. "That if I don't pay him in 48hrs they'll get her" he says putting his head in his hands as he sits back down with a thump. My heart slip down to my belly "get who?" I asked not really wanting to know the answer. He never moved his head from his hands "Jaylah" he said in a whisper. Next thing I new I had him by his throat against the kitchen wall "are you fucking kidding me?" I yelled in his face. He didn't try to fight me back, didnt even push me off his throat. He just shook his head no. "Why did you fucking do that?! Why did you all have to get out of there so damn bad that now there after her for what you fucking did?!" I yelled. Before he could answer he looked over my shoulder. "What the hell is going on?! Let him go Skylar, Now!" Jaylah yelled coming up beside me and pulled my arms making me let go of his neck. "It's ok Jaylah, were just talking" James says holding his neck. She looks at him with piercing eyes. "Talking? If that was talking then what the fuck am I doing?!" She yelled at us. She looked back and forth between us putting her hands on her hips. Shes so fucking sexy when she's pissed. "Start talking now!" She yells again. James looks at me and I give him a 'fuck you' look and turn away, taking a seat at the table. "Go on, tell her" I said finishing the last of my drink. Jaylah looks at him and waits. 35mins later Abbey and i are pulling Jaylah off her brother. Who was backed up in the kitchen corner covering his face and balls from her wild fist yelling sorry over and over. "Sorry?! Sorrys not good enough you fucking Dick Ho!" Jaylah screams back at him. Then there was a hard knock from the front door. We all stopped and looked that way, then looked at each other. "I'll go see who it is" I said letting go of Jaylah's waste. "No!" She whispers loudly and grabbing my arm. "It's ok just stay in here, if I yell run you fucking run. Do you understand me?" I asked holding her face in my hands making her look at me. "Yes" she whispers in kisses my lips, I kiss her back then let her go. "Stay in here until I say so" I say to all of them. They nod and I walk out of the kitchen to the front door just as they bang on it again. 'Wheres the damn peep hole when you need one' I thought taking a deep breath. I open the door and see 4 big guys standing on the porch. "Can I help you?" I asked sternly. A black headed man with tattoos on every part of his body that was visible was covered looked at me and smiled "I should hope so. I'm looking for James, where is he?" He asked and the other men behind him moved up closer. "Umm who? I don't know a James" I said placing my foot behind the door to try and stop them from coming in if they tryed. The guy with the tats laughs "yeah I wails say that to if I was you, how about a Jaylah? Do you know that slut?" He said. That pissed me off. "No I don't know a slut called Jaylah" I said through gridded teeth. 'Keep cool Skylar, just be fucking cool' I told myself as he stepped closer to the door. "I thank you do, and you know what else I thank? I thank your Fucking the Slut" he says and hits the door with his shoulder knocking me backwards. I stumble over the livingroom coffee table shattering the glass on my weight. The men look at me and smile. I look over to the kitchen door "Run!!"
