Half-Blood Princess

Prologue

"Come on Kely!" The girl heard one of her best friends yell from the front door.

"Coming Sev! Just a second!" The girl yelled back to him. She put on a t-shirt that said 'The Weird Sisters' and some blue jeans over long, pale legs. She put my chocolate-brown hair into a short, loose ponytail and gathered a few things and put them in her trunk, and ran downstairs to the front door.

Lily and Kely were witches, while Severus was a wizard. Kely was accepted into two wizarding schools, Hogwarts and Beauxbatons. Kelly was headed to Beauxbatons, a wizarding school in France, while Severus and Lily went to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They were going into first year and were very excited and nervous at the same time.

Kely climbed into Mr. and Mrs. Evans, Lily's parents, car along with Severus and Lily. It was September 1, 1972 and Lily, Severus, Kely and Mr. and Mrs. Evans were headed to Kings Cross Station, platform nine and three-quarters.

The group headed toward platforms nine and ten with Severus and Lily's trunks on the trolleys. They stopped when they got to the platforms and just stared at them. There were people, wizards, leaning against the wall between platforms nine and ten.

Kely, Lily, and Severus leaned against the wall along with Severus and Lily's trolleys and looked around to see if any muggles, non-magical people, were looking. When they were in the clear they went through the barrier and landed onto the magical platform nine and three-quarters. It was 10:35 and the train left at 11:00 sharp.

"Make sure you have all of your things. We wouldn't want you to leave anything at home and not be able to get it till Christmas." Mrs. Evans told the the two children.

"It's alright Mrs. Evans, we have everything. And if they did leave something you could always owl it back to us." Kely told her with a smile on her face. Wizards used owls to send letters and packages in the wizarding community, they didn't use that we-mail stuff that muggles do. Although Lily's parents are muggles and she is a muggle-born.

"Okay, but you three need to send us a letter at least once a week. If we don't get one letter a week, I will be coming down to your school and see what's wrong." Mr. Evans told us. Kely giggled and Lily said, "It's okay dad we'll be sure to owl you once or twice a week." And with that they walked to beside the train and gave each other hugs.

"Are you excited Kel?" Lily asked Kely nervous but enthusiasticly once they were at the train station. Of course she wasn't excited, she was ecstatic.

"Of course I'm excited, but I'm also nervous that you and Sev won't be there with me." Kely told Lily truthfully. She was excited to go to Beuxbatons, but was nervous that no one would accept me. Kely had a secret that only she knew, and she would never tell anyone. At least, not until she was ready.

"It's okay Kel, Lily and I will owl you every day and you can owl us every day. That's a promise." Severus held out both of his hands to us so the three could shake on it. Lily and Kely took a hand each and took each others free hand to make a circle and then they shook on it.

"It's a deal!" They said together.
