Everyone knows that I’ve been different since the day I was born.  My mother had known I was different even before I was born.  My parents, Skye and Lance Noel, adopted me.  My birthmother had stumbled into Rosewater having been dropped by a vampire a couple miles from the town, and she first saw Skye, who took her in immediately.  She was already nine months pregnant, which led Skye to believe the vampire had interest in the baby.  I was born about a week or so after my birthmother arrived.  She died during childbirth.

I don’t know much about her.  I only know that her name was Annalise Lynette Fallon and that I look just liker her.  The only differences between us are our hair and eye color.  Her hair was a brighter blonde than mine, and her eyes were a deep blue, whereas mine were bright green and almost seemed to glow.  She was tall and very pretty, and had a perfect figure.  I only know these things because I have a picture of her.  She had given it to Skye because Annalise knew she was going to die during my birth.

My father’s identity, for the most part, is a mystery.  I only know a few details about him, and those are mostly physical features.  He was apparently tall and thin, and quite interesting.  There were things about him that were rather strange, like he was rarely caught outside during the daytime and was hardly ever seen eating.  People even said that his eyes were red, but if questioned about even just the next day after they said that, they would have no clue what you were talking about.  Some said that he could just turn up in a place and vanish, like he was teleporting.  My mom, Skye, told me these things a few years ago when I started asking questions about my birthfather.  She told me the blatant truth, and that was that I am a vampire’s daughter.  She doesn’t know his name, and neither do I, but Annalise did tell her that it starts with a “D.”
