The rain poured down harder as I drove faster. My foot was pushing way down on the gas, even though I wasn't particularly speeding. I was such a coward, even just to coming to a house that I used to know. My vision was clearing up from crying a while ago, but I'm fine now. I take a left turn and pull up to my house. I took out my umbrella and opened my car door. Quickly I opened my umbrella, and putting my head under. In an awkward motion I got out of my car and closed the door. I locked it and shoved my keys in my jacket pocket.

I stood on my porch and closed the umbrella and shook it dry. I pulled out my keys again, opening the door. I put my wet umbrella in the corner. I pulled my boots off and was greeted by Meredith. She rubbed herself against my leg, purring loudly. I rubbed my hand along her back.

"At least you love me," I told her, although she had no clue what I was saying. I sigh, walking into my living room. I grab the remote turning it on, checking my DVR. Six episodes of Law & Order appeared on the screen. I clicked an episode and watched with Meredith by my side while I munched on popcorn.

Five episodes later it had become dark outside. The episode finishes, and my eyes avert from the TV to the clock. Time had gotten away from me and it was already one in the morning.

"Time for bed, Mer." I whispered, as if someone was listening to me even though I was alone. I went into my room and closed the blinds. I changed into my pajamas and sat in bed, patting beside me for Meredith to hop up. I rest my head on my pillow and shut my tired heavy eyes.
