But he knew that the human was the reason he felt this pulling of his soil in his chest. It was awful. And it was something no one else could understand. Even with that in mind, Sans did live a very peaceful lifestyle as a child before the accident. He would never kill any monster. It doesn't matter what the monster did to him, he would never use violence to solve anything. And now that he has, he doesn't think it filled any empty space that Gaster's accident took from him. So he listened to the voice through the door. And when they walked through, he wouldn't hurt them.

Sans teleported to the ruins. He had been watching the human closely to try to befriend them later. They were in the ruins by the bowl of free monster candy. The human only took one.

They're a good kid. Making friends with them should be easy.

All of a sudden, a whimsum came up to them. They went into a battle. This was one of the last whimsums in the underground because Sans had killed the rest. All they had to fight was a stick for a weapon, and a bandage for protection. The human lunged at the whimsum and killed it in one hit with the stick. Sans couldn't believe his eyes. This human might be a problem. They kept going throughout the ruins and Sans followed them. They found a toy knife on the ground later on and equipped it with no hesitation.

This is not good.

Sans teleported back to his stand in Snowdin. He had to keep watch for this human. Sans measured that they had already had 5 LV. Sans had 14 LV because of all the killing. Even if he stopped now, he can never get rid of the LV no matter what he tries. All of a sudden the human came through the door from the ruins. Sans hid behind the giant rock where Gaster had planted cameras. Sans started following the human along. They stopped at the bridge that Papyrus built.

"H u m a n.

"D o n t y o u k n o w h o w t o
g r e e t a n e w p a l ?

"T u r n a r o u n d a n d s h a k e
m y h a n d ." Sans said in the most evil voice he had. Even if he was mostly evil. But he was reforming. Asriel could no longer be an influence.

The human turned around and started a battle. From other timelines, the human is supposed to shake his hand. But this is genocide.

"Hey, kiddo, no need to fight ok? You don't want to fight me trust that."

The human lunged at Sans. Sans never gets hit. Ever. So Sans dodged the attack like it was no sweat. Sans picked up his phone and dialed Papyrus' number. Sans would need some backup.

The human looked so familiar. Almost as if Sans had seen them before...

No. It can't be...

Is this Chara...? Sans thought.

He couldn't push these thoughts out of his head. So he looked at the human's eyes and cheeks.

Their eyes and cheeks are bright red.

The shirt is fading from purple and blue to green and yellow.

This is Chara. And if this is really Chara and not a stolen body, the entire underground is in trouble.

Sans fights them with all of his strength and attacks. The human is taking a beating, but Sans isn't getting by anything. They just keep swinging the knife at Sans and missing. While Sans is launching wave after wave of bones and the human is getting hit by everything. Soon enough, the human runs out of HP. And they die to Sans' Gaster blasters. He took them from his dad when he saw how friendly they were. But they aren't friendly in a battle to the person getting hit by it.

Papyrus comes around to his station finally. But the human already was dead.

"Sans, what happened? What did I miss? You look tired" Papyrus says.

"A... Human. They walked through... Starting genocide... They killed so many... innocents already...." Sans said out of breath.

Papyrus was shocked. He couldn't even tell that it was a human from the dust on their clothes. But that just proves Sans' theory more.

All of a sudden, Sans doubles over. His soul is turning in his chest and the pain sets in again. Is the human doing something after death? Sans can't focus on anything besides his soul.

"Sans!! Did you get hit?! Are you alright??" Papyrus rushed over to help him. But it was too late. Sans could see the time line resetting. They were coming back to defeat Sans. And it doesn't look like they will stop. This is not good. Papyrus was fading away. Everything was fading away. Except for Sans. Which he stood there completely normal. He is the only one who remembers the pain of his soul during a reset. He is the only one who will remember everything. But, all of the monsters that he had previously killed would come back. And suddenly, Sans falls over. His whole vision went white, and the pain was inflicted again.

Sans woke up seconds later. He woke up at his station. It didn't look too suspicious because he always slept on the job.

He teleported to Papyrus' bridge and called him to come over. Sans wasn't going to let the human reset again. He would take their soul and finally cross the barrier. Sans promised himself he would help people from the genocide on. He wouldn't hurt anyone ever again unless they deserve it. Which this human does. And Sans would stop them. No matter how many resets it takes.
