Teen Fiction
Write a story about the aftermath of your character being in a car accident.

Naomi and other characters are from the story King. If you're interested in seeing more of Naomi, please check out King.

The last thing Naomi remembered was being in the front seat of her friend's car, where two other girls sat in the backseat and the oldest of the four, a Junior, drove around. Music blasted from the radio, a rap song that all of them knew by heart and went along with. Laughter and chatter filled the inside of the car and Naomi felt at peace with all of it. She felt like a normal kid that could just have fun with her friends. Though, in a blink of an eye, all of that changed as the car collided with another and her vision went black.

When her vision came back, she was barely able to open up her eyes due to the harsh sunlight and the pain in her head. She groaned as she tried to raise her arm, having great difficulty doing so. When she finally had her hand in the air, she touched her forehead and there, she could feel the sticky substance that she knew all too well. Bringing down to where she could see it, her hand was covered with blood that came from her head. Eyes widening from the sight, she tried to scream and raise herself, but couldn't do either. Her voice wouldn't come out and her body ache all over. Luckily for her, someone was nearby to see her struggle around.

It was an adult who tried to calm her down, telling her to just rest and not to move. She tried to ask them a question, wanting to know where she was and what happened. Why was she bleeding and where were her friends. Instead, she was answered with other voices that she was able to pick up. Turning her head over to the side, there, she could see the wreckage.

The once used silver car without any dents was badly damaged and had another car connected to the side of it. Police officers were gathered around the other car, talking to someone who she assumed was the driver since they had a couple of bandaids on their forehead. The group were nodding and kept looking towards the two cars. She tried to move her head upwards a bit, trying to see who else was around. There, she could see an ambulance and her heart almost burst out of her chest. Two of her friends, the two that were sitting in the back, sat inside, getting cleaned and patched up. Their faces were twisted up and someone tried to talk to them, but it looked as if the two wouldn't listen. She calmed herself, happy to see the two were okay, but her happiness soon disappeared when seeing that a certain someone wasn't there.

Panicked took over her as a small voice in her head began to say "no" multiple times. Her eyes darted everywhere, trying to see the familiar face sitting up, face twisted up like the other two girls. Probably getting patched up like them and with a couple of officers that talked to her. But she didn't see her and that made her heart beat faster. Where was she, is she okay, did something happen to her? Raising her arm, she used her bloody hand to grab onto the arm of the adult that was still beside her. Their eyes met up with hers, wondering what the teen wanted.

It took her awhile to find her voice before finally she was able to croak out. "Where's my friend? The girl that was driving?"

The adult didn't answer her, instead, she could see the sadness that filled their eyes. With their hand, they touched her bloody one and said "I'm sorry" to her.

She didn't get it at first. She was puzzled and wondered what type of answer that was until it finally clicked. "No," came out in a barely audible voice before she began to raise. "No, no, no!" It came out as a scream, a harsh and raspy scream. "No, you're lying. She ain't.... She ain't..." She couldn't even get the words out as tears fell from her eyes.

Naomi didn't even hear the adult as they tried to talk to her, or to those that came over to her, asking if she was alright. She tuned them all out as she continued to cry, the tears coming out fast and stained the side of her face and going into her hair.

She couldn't accept for a fact that she just lost her friend.

Author's Note: This is story #1 of my special present to all of you! If you do not know, Naomi is a character from my story, King. I found this prompt in the Improving club and thought it was perfect for Naomi, I even wanted to use it for a scholarship, but never did so. Anyways, how did you guys like it? It's pretty short compared to the others, but I love it and you guys may even see the extended version of this in King, maybe. But now, onto the next chapter~
