. . .

As he was exiting from the room, heading out the door that leaded to the outside world, one of his soldiers ran outside of the room. "Emilio!" he shouted his name, stopping the captain. "Are you sure that you can save him yourself?"

Of course, he wasn't, he wanted to run away or even request for help. Yet, Emilio couldn't bring himself to do so. The thought of bringing someone with him and losing another them crossed his mind. Several "what if" scenarios would pop up in his head, scenarios that he never wanted to see played out. Instead, he kept his head held up high and put on the front of the courageous leader that everyone thought of him. "I made a promise to everyone that I will bring him back and that's exactly what I plan on doing." And with that, he walked out the door of the building.

Once outside, he looked around. Due to the location of their hideout, high up in an oak tree, they were able to see almost everything. The tops of other trees, some towns, rivers, and mountains. Before going on a mission, Emilio would usually take his time to stop and appreciate their surroundings. Checking to see where he would have to head off to. Pointing off in the direction of his new mission or even remember the last mission that he had did, laughing as he would tell Lieutenant MP the stories. His comrade laughing alongside him and even sharing some of his missions with the other. The two enjoying themselves as the stood outside of the base, not wanting to leave each other at all.

Focus, he mentally slapped himself. There's no time for you to be standing here all sad like, you have to save him.

That was right, he didn't have the time to just stand around in his emotions, he was on a mission and one that he needed to start on. Focusing on the mountain that was facing the hideout, he narrowed his eyes before saying, "Don't worry Mr. Pup, I'm coming to get you."

.

The journey to where Mr. Pup was felt like he had been walking for hours. The sun didn't help as it shined down on him and took most of his energy. It was only when he was able to find shade somewhere that he was able to regain himself.

He was so close; his destination was right there in front him. He only needed to take a few more steps and he would be closer to saving—

Emilio paused as the ground began to shake. What just happened? Was that an earthquake? No, it was something much worse than that. Coming out from behind some of the trees was a grey tiger with dark grey stripes. Unlike an any other tiger this one was larger than normal, standing as tall as one of the trees. Each step that it would take would shake the trees and rocks, it would cause anyone who was nearby to stop in their tracks. Anyone would cross through this forest knew of the tiger and didn't want to cross paths with it.

La Bestia was what everyone called it.

La Bestia didn't notice Emilio and he was going to keep it that way. Hiding behind one of the trees, he watched the tiger carefully, waiting for what it was going to do. The tiger seemed to be on a stroll, taking small steps and pausing to smell whatever was near it. At the pace of what La Bestia was going, it would take him forever to get to the mountain to save Mr. Pup. And he didn't want to go around since that would take even longer.

Holding onto the tree, he felt his nails dig into the trunk. Emilio knew what he had to do, though he didn't like it. Pulling out his weapon, he readied himself to attack if the tiger came for him. However, he stopped as he heard some voices from beside him.
