Hey guys, I just decided to write a thing about this because it greatly worries me. Like, it keeps me up at night.

The inconvenient truth is that our bees are dying.

The bee species is going extinct and it's deeply unsettling because without bees, we don't have food. Bees are responsible for one out of every three foods we eat- that's a lot of food, man. They pollinate fruits and vegetables, which feed our livestock, which feed us.

Bees are extremely important to humankind, and according to US News, American beekeepers lost 42 percent of their honeybee colonies.

Why are bees going extinct, though? That's the first question that crossed my mind when I learned of the problem. Many sources suggest that the reason bees are dying are chemicals called "neoninicotinoids". Neonicotinoids are insecticides that are used in commercial agriculture that fends off aphids. However, it also kills bees.

Studies also suggest that global warming plays a big role in the dying of bees. Extreme weather conditions can harm plant life, and therefore bees have no food. Not to mention they're losing habitat

Now here's the really important part. How do we help the bees?

1. Don't use pesticides. Pesticides kill bees. Some alternatives are using natural pest predators, using biological pest control, or simply practicing organic farming.

2. Eat organic. Buying food from companies that use pesticides will only give them more money to buy more pesticides.

3. Garden. Bees need pollen and nectar, and if you plant pesticide-free flowers and plants, they have a new place to get what they need! Wildflowers and year-round plants are especially good if you want to create a habitat for bees.

4. Local Honey. If you buy honey, buy it from a local beekeeper, who really cares for the bees he keeps.

5. Spread awareness. The bees will go extinct if we don't all pitch in. That is all.

I know this is random. But pls.
