It was a chilly spring day as a young senior walked out of the locker room. She smiled and adjusted the black American flag printed that was on her shoulder. She began to walk up the stairs to the back door when she heard some girls talking. Recognizing the voices as some girls from her grade and gave a wave as she passed them. "Hey {Y-N}, you going to the game tonight?" A long haired brunette asked as she stopped at the bottom of the stairs. Turning around to face the two girls {Y-N} smiled. "Yeah, are you?" She asked and the two girls nodded. "Yeah, so we'll see you there."
Saying a quick bye to the two girls {Y-N} continued to walked up the stairs and took a left down the hallway. Passing through the darkly lit hallway she stopped at a navy blue locker with a softball on it. Opening it up she grabbed her phone and turned on the flashlight to see what books she was grabbing. "Let's see, what homework do I have?" She questioned herself and began thinking through her classes. "I have chemistry, statistics and probability, world history-" She was cut off by the sound of footsteps walking down the hallway.
Using the flashlight she looked to her left to see no one down the hallway, and turned to her right to see nothing as well. Shrugging it off as a teacher working late or a janitor she placed her books and notebooks in her bag and closed it. Shutting her locker and locking it she glanced at her locker sign and smiled. " Eagles softball team, number 13." She mumbled to herself and placed the backpack on her shoulder before walking to the end of the hallway. Turning right at the end of the hallway she felt someone place their hands on her shoulders and someone yell "RAWR!"
Letting out a scream and jumping she placed her right hand over her fast paced heart. "Alfred?" She questioned as she saw who it was that scared her. "The one and only hero!" He said and laughed at her face. "Oh my god, don't scare me like that you idiot!" She said and playfully smacked his arm, knowing fully that it wouldn't hurt the American. "It was pretty funny though." He said causing her to roll her {E-C} eyes. "Anyways, what are you doing in the school? Don't you have a game in like ten minutes?" She asked and he nodded.
"Yup, I just forgot my hat in my locker. I was about to grab it but I saw you there and thought it would be funny to scare you.... Which it was." He said with a wink at the end. Checking the time she looked at him worriedly. "Well, you better hurry up. It's already 5:50 and your game starts at 6." She informed him causing him to sprint down the hall with cleats clacking on the tile floor. "Janitors are gonna be mad at you!" She yelled and thought about how much his metal cleats must be scratching the floor.
"Naw, not if they don't catch me!" She got back as a response and heard the sound of a locker opening and quickly closing. Walking back to the girl with his baseball hat on, he wrapped his arm around her waist. "You coming to my game tonight? It is the State Championship." He said and she nodded. "Of course, why would I miss it?" He laughed and ruffled the top of her head, successfully messing her hair up. "That's my girl." He said and the two of the walked out of the school doors and to the baseball field.____________________________________________________________________________________
