I eat peanut butter even though I'm allergic

How can I
Feel numb?

And then so
Overcome
With
Something more than
A happiness

These emotions

Only to be brought
To this
Great
Sadness

As a result
Of you

Or, rather
Lack thereof

Tears that venture
Over the bridge
Of my nose

I feel my heart in my elbows
And I
Wonder
How?

Can I feel this somber
Happiness

Can I cry,
Yet
Smile?

And I come
To the confounding
Conclusion-

At the comforting warmth
In the pit
Of my queasy stomach-

That maybe
You are
A soft
Allergen.
