I was walking down the path to my school when I heard a rustling in the bushes. I didn't look because it was usually just a bird or some little animal. This time it wasn't. I first heard a voice, then it got louder until I saw two people coming out of behind some bushes. They saw me and looked at me like I just saw the worst. Were they hiding because they didn't want anybody to know about them? Who knows but I'm staying out of it."Don't worry guys, I won't tell.", I say trying to rush away.
"Wait!", the guy yells after me. I don't want to stop and go even faster. "I know you heard me, please stop!", he continues to yell after me. I might as well stop. I mean there is no bad consequence to it.
'Okay. What do you want?", I say in a rush.
"You won't tell anyone, will you?", he says in an urgent way. "Of course not. Why?", I ask suddenly interested.
"Well, there is just a lot of people who don't like me for some reason.", he says in a kind of scared voice.
"Wait. I know you. You're Cody Valoy!", I say expectantly.
"Um. Well yes. Yes I am.", he then smirks. "Don't go and get any ideas. I have no interest in any boys who use women.", I say to him rudely.
I walk away half expecting him to follow and he does. He tries talking to me multiple times but I just ignore him. He really should know that I wouldn't talk to the likes of him. He will just be an ass as every popular person I have ever talked to. And I don't plan on being his next conquest. I would never be a conquest for him or any other boy who doesn't go out with girls for love. Really, that's just an excuse so I don't have to deal with the drama that comes with relationships.
I turn around to him quickly, "Look, I don't want anything to do with you or your friends when all you do is use people for your own good. "What about if I took you to the track so you can start racing?", he says coyly.
"How did you know that I was looking to become a driver?", I say surprised. "Well, you see, I have been watching you at the track and noticed you talking to all the people who rent or lend out the cars. I just happened to think you were asking to get one lent to you. I have a couple extra cars if you want to come see them.", he says in an almost excited voice.
I think about it hard all day. And since he said to let him know by the end of the day, I have lots of time.
"Victoriqe!", I hear my friend Ellie yell after me. I haven't seen her in ages. She was on a vacation for two months. I honestly didn't expect to see her today. I am so surprised about this it's scary.
"Why didn't you text or call me telling me you were coming back! I could have held a welcome back party!", I yell in hysteria. I know the reason. It's because I always go over board with my parties. One time I held a party on the beach in front of my house with fireworks and a drunk guy tried lighting them off and they exploded on the beach with us.
"I didn't tell you because I don't want a party. I just wanted to see my beautiful friend and my loving boyfriend.", she says in a chip voice.
"And I wouldn't know what it's like to have someone waiting for me.", I mumbled. I became emancipated when I was just 16 because my parents were abusive and always drunk. I have lived in my own for a year now and I am perfectly fine with it. At least I have more freedom than most. And surprisingly I was able to buy the house I have. When the market was down I bought it from my savings only having to pay thirty thousand. Its only a one bedroom and small beach but it is nice.
"I heard that you know.", Ellie says giving up, "I really need to find someone good for you. It would be a change for the good. Ooo how about that Chance guy? Hmm?".
I can tell she is having fun with the idea since he is one of the most delinquent guys in the school and she knows I'm into that. But guess what? No chance in hell I would date him.
"Well, I'm going to class so I will talk to you later.", I say rushing off for the second time today. I'm starting to get the feeling like today is going to end up really bad for me.
At the end of the day I see Cody and take him up in his offer. "That offer still available?", I ask walking up to him. He smiles really big, "Of course it is. Right this way m'lady."
"Don't do that. It's creepy. Especially when I am definitely not ladylike. I'm going to be racing. Definitely not lady like.", I say with a huge grin on my happy face.
"Of course not but you are still as gorgeous as a lady.", he says quietly. Well that just made things awkward. We are quite the rest of the drive. Neither of us even tries to. We both know that what he said made me uncomfortable.
"So, the cars are outback in the garage, but before we go out there lets eat.", he says with a longing look.
"Sounds good to me. Food for victorious.", I reply.
"Yes, food for the victorious.", he looks at the house timidly. "If my brother comes out to talk to you then ignore him. He is a major douche and is honestly worse then me.", he says wearily starting down the path to his door.
"I guess I now know where it comes from at least.", I say laughing and trying to lighten the mood. It didn't work. He still looks disturbed.
When we get to the front door he opens it slowly trying to not make a bunch of noise. I am really hungry. I didn't eat lunch because I was tutoring someone. Now because of it I got a horrible cramp.
"Hey there.", I hear a familiar voice say. I turn around and there, right in front of me is Chance, what is going on?
