Oh my flipping god. It's Chance. Is he Cody's' brother? Really? Wow, I can't believe it. I never expected this. Oh no. can they tell that I am freaking out inside? I sure hope not.
"Um, are you okay girl?", Chance asks me worried.
"I'm fine. Just fine. Did not expect to see you here though to tell the truth. Didn't know you were related to this douche.", I say.
"Yeah, he is one big douche, huh?", he says with a smirk.
"I guess it runs in the family. Well at least you two. Probably the biggest douches in the school.", I then say with a smirk of my own."Okay okay guys. No need to strangle each other in anger. We all know that you two hate each other. Since fourth grade in fact.", Cody interrupts impatiently.
Oh yes, those happy years of elementary school. When every boy made fun of my braces and glasses. Those were the days. The soul reason I hate Chance is because in fourth grade he lifted my skirt in PE and of course it was the day I only had underwear on underneath instead of the shorts I usually wore underneath. I then proceeded to dump all my food on him at lunch and got us both community service. On top of that, after school he decided to squirt ketchup on me while I was walking home. It was not a fun day.
"Yes and I will never forget it!", I snap.
"And that's okay cause your here to look at the cars and eat. Not argue with my ass of a twin.", he replies to me calmly trying to make me settle down.
"Okay.", I say and start following him to the kitchen. Chance just looks at us shocked. Like he never expected us to be friends.
"When did you start racing?", Chance calls after me.
"None of your damn business.", I reply coyly. That should shut the dummy up. Then I decide to just walk away. Following behind Cody we walk into the kitchen. Their house is really nice. It's very large. Not a mansion quite yet but getting there, and that's not including their ten car garage. I am so amazed by this place. It is a light baby blue on the outside and the interior is all very bold blues and white and black furniture. The kitchen has granite counters and cherry wood cabinets.
"What do you want to drink? We have lemonade, water, apple juice or milk.", Cody asks me.
"I'll just have some water.", I reply.
"Water it is then. And to eat? Our fridges and cabinets are full so whatever you want.", Cody says to me intrigued on what my food taste is.
"Eh, just a PB&J.", I reply back to him. I really don't want to be eating all of their food.
"Oh. What time do you need to be home? Is there a time your parents want you back at the house?", Cody asks not realizing that I am not living with them nor have I seen them for a year.
"No. they don't care.", I say angrily.
"Hey. Sorry if I said something to tick you off. Didn't mean to. I really am sorry."
"It's fine. I just don't live with them. I live by myself."
"Sorry to hear that..if you ever need or want to hang out with someone you could always come over or I could come over."
"No. it's fine. I don't have sleep overs with boys.", I laugh at him. That had to be the weirdest thing said to me today. Actually, this day has been pretty good. I did not expect that I would get along so well with him. Maybe there is a possibility that we will become friends. I mean, we are going to be racing together and I am going to be using his cars for it.
"Ha ha ha.", he says sarcastically, "I never said that I would or you would be spending the night."
"Okay okay, my bad.", I laugh.
After I eat and finish my drink we walk outside and head over to the cars. When I walk inside, there are three cars on display. The first that I walk by is a 1977 mustang ll cobra ll. The second is some crappy looking car with a beautiful engine. The last one is another mustang. In fact it is a 1966 mustang GT flashback.
"Holy crap! These are some fine cars you have here.", I say excitedly. They are fine. The finest I have seen in a while.
"Well yeah. What one do you want to test out first?", he asks me.
"I'll just drive both the mustangs first. In fact we should go for a short race.", I say expectantly.
"Of course! Let's go!", Cody exclaims. And after that he hands my the keys to the cobra and we start our cars up. The engine of the car revs and my heart skips. The sound is amazing. Perfect. I drive the car out of the garage and drive up to the starting line. We are driving a straight of two miles. And as soon as he pulls up beside me, we are off.
As our cars speed up, I hit 80mph. Cody is just slightly behind me. I can tell he is actually trying so it's funny to see him behind me. Maybe I might win this race. Hopefully I will, then I can brag to him about it during lunch and his friends can laugh at him cause a girl won a race against him.I giggle at the though. I must focus on the road.
The trees beside the road are a blur and all at once the race is over. I won! I can't believe it.
I hop out of the car excitedly.
"Great job Vic. Wait, it's okay that I call you that, right?"
"Yeah, it's fine. I really don't care. Call me what you want as long as it is not some stupid pet name like candy or something. I would hurt you if you did."
"I only had babe on my mind.", he grins."No, no, no. Never!"
"Oh. What's wrong? The name to relationshippy for you?
"Is that even a word? And no. I just don't want to be some losers babe.", I stick my tongue out at him playfully.
"I guess it isn't. Either way, I need to know where you live in case anything happens or something is wrong. Also so I can know where my car is so lead the. way", he says coyly.
