When we get to my house we get out of the cars and walk inside. I take off my shoes and coat and tell him to do so as well. After all, he is in my house and I want it clean. Living alone is a hassle sometimes because I have to do everything but it is my messes so I guess it's my job. But I also have my actual job to pay off bills on top of that, one reason I'm racing is to pay some bills.

"It's not much but it is home. The most I will probably ever have in fact.", I tell Cody while walking down the hall to my room. "You come in at the living room and there are doorways leading into the kitchen and dining room and then there is an office and a bedroom. The bathroom is connected to the bedroom.", I say explaining the house so he knows where everything is.

These past few days in this house have honestly been really depressing. I found out that my mother had another child and I have felt really upset about it. "Now it's my turn to ask. Want something to eat or drink?", I ask politely.

"Sure, what do you have to eat? I just want water to drink.", he replies.

"I am making dinner now so you can just stay for dinner or if you are leaving soon then I have carrots and ranch, sandwich stuff, and...", I get cut off, "I'll just stay for dinner."

"Okay, dinner it is."

"Great! I brought cloths with me cause I wanted to get out of these greasy things so I am going to go change in the bathroom."

"Okay, you could just change in my room. I don't really care."

"No, it's fine."

"Okay."

Now that I am left hereto think alone, a lot of thoughts pop up in my head. Why has Cody taken interest in me. It's probably just because I race cars.

When he gets done changing he comes back out and sits on the couch.

"I'm just going to make hamburgers and french fries." , I tell him.

"That's okay with me. It is your house, not mine."

"Just wanted to let you know because I don't know if you are allergic to anything."

"Oh, okay. Nah, I'm not allergic to anything that I know of."

"Okay, that's good to know."

"Hey, um, I have a question...", he says wearily.

"What is it?"

"Are you interested in anyone right now? Like as in like a crush or something?"

Okay. Now I am freaking out inside. I have no clue how I am supposed to respond to this. This was not something I saw coming. Now I just can't tell if he's going to ask me out or if he is asking this for a friend. Wait, I know. It's because he is going to use me for something... maybe. Actually I doubt that. He knows I would kill anyone who uses me.

"Um. Yeah. I guess.", I finally reply.

"Oh. Really? Who?", he says surprised.

"A person. You don't need to know. It's my business.", I snap at him.

"Okay. I was just wondering."

"Yeah. Whatever."

"Can you at least tell me if it is anyone I might know?"

"It is someone you know. That's for sure." I can't believe I just told him that. I don't want these weird feelings to fall out. I don't like feelings. They suck.

"Oh. Cool. So, the first race you can participate in is this next Tuesday if you want to sign for it. It is at the North Bend."

"Yeah. Of course I want to race. But I have never been to that spot so I will have to practice run it a couple times."

"If you want to get some sleep and if it is alright if I sleep on your couch, I will take you to it in the morning. Since it is so late and all."

"Fine with me. I would rather not go out when it is already eleven and dark."

"Okay."

"Dinner is ready now so go ahead and dig in. Condiments are in the fridge.", I say as I go and sit on my back porch with the food. Today actually turned out pretty good.

We went all of dinner without talking and then I went to bed.
