A/N: This is short, but just to prove I'm alive and still writing here's something I have in the making.

And I know Joe was their previous drummer, but I had to make him the bassist for this to work

“Load up on guns, bring your friends. It’s fun to loose and to pretend. She’s overboard and self-assured, Oh, no, I said a dirty word” The words of the iconic song rang through my mind as I listened to it, hidden away at the back of my citizenship class, my teacher would be sure not to notice. My citizenship partner James was even singing along and going un noticed.

“So class your homework is due period five next Friday” Mr Riggs said managing to be audible to us over the rest of the class and mine and James’ Nirvana. The bell rang around the room as I put all my things into my backpack and taking my right headphone back for myself as I walked out of the door.

I walked down the corridor a little way to the other citizenship class that ran fifth period on a Friday and waited outside for my brother Max and best friend Lucy, their teacher did so love to let them out late. I waited five minutes before the duo escaped the grips of Ms. Lane, there was no doubt anyone in need of catching a bus would’ve missed it, but lucky for the three of us our houses weren’t that far away from our personal hell, other wise known as secondary school.

“Hey better Helyer twin” the blonde haired girl chuckled, linking her arm with mine, the look on my brothers face at that moment was hilarious. “Well It’s nice to know I’m loved Franceschi” my brother muttered a smirk across his lips. The two had an odd relationship they’d constantly tease each other but suddenly they could be the best of friends. “Play nice you two” I giggled as we walked out of the block into the court were we met the rest of the group, there was Lucy’s older brother Josh, Chris Miller and his girlfriend Georgina, Dan Flint and Hanna, Josh’s current on and off girlfriend.

We greeted each other and went on our way to our homes, it wouldn’t be long before we’d all be gathered into mine and Max’s house in a few hours for band practise anyway, like every Friday, the other four boys would come over and have band practise on the odd occasion they’d stay the night and we’d order pizza, Lucy and Georgina would join me and we’d sit on the sofa while they practised and get our homework, on though it wasn’t often that we’d be joined by Hanna.

It took mere minutes to walk home, the time passed even quicker as I talked to Lucy and Georgina about the citizenship homework, A report on whether we thought Leisure time was just a waste, we practically had it written there and then as had tapped notes from our conversation into my phone.

We said our goodbyes and split off in our separate directions, Me and Max waited patiently at the door for a few minutes after ringing the bell before I got my keys out , opening the door and being faced with silence. “It looks like no ones home Maximus” I said smiling. I walked into the living room and found the usual note mum and dad left when they weren’t home ‘Max, Chloe - We’re out on business, yes, this means you can have friends over, no house parties, love mum and dad.’ I handed Max the note and he cheered, it was the same routine anytime our parents were out of town.

I quickly went upstairs to my room, dumping my bag down in the hallway as I went. The walls in my bedroom, much similar to my brothers were covered in posters of my favourite bands: The smiths, Blink 182 and so on and so forth. I quickly changed from my school uniform into a ‘The Smiths’ shirt, Pair of torn jeans and combat boots.

I walked down the stairs into the back room where Max was setting up flicking on all the practise amps so when everyone came over band practise could commence immediately.

I kicked my legs up onto the sofa in the practise room opening up my citizenship textbook and reading through the pages, looking up religious opinions on leisure time as asked of me.

With five minutes to the official practise time the doorbell rang. “Max!” I called “Door!”, my nose still stuck in the book as I’d end up helping my brother with the homework I was researching for the both of us.

“Hey Chlo” I heard my best friends voices as they came through the door, Georgia and Lucy seated themselves next to me while Chris and Josh set up with Max, Chris and Max tuning their guitars and josh testing the volume of his mic. I looked around for a minute, I assumed, yet again Hanna was not to be showing, but it was unusual for Dan and Joe not to be round by know. I eventually voiced my question, “Where are Dan and Joe?”, “Uhm, didn’t Max tell you, Joe’s not apart of the band anymore, they already have a new bassist, Dan’s just gone to pick him up” Georgina said with a nod. “Oh okay then, I didn’t want to pry any further, whether or not this was a personal reason of Joe’s or whether it was creative differences I did not want to bring a negative turn to this practise before it even started.

“Who’s the new guy then?” Lucy asked her brother. “Matt Barnes, He’s in our triple science and I think he might be in your Geography class too” he replied. I knew the name but did not know the face, though I’d soon find out what he looked like.

In ten minutes there was a knock at the door, as the boys where setting up for band practise and Georgina and Lucy where copying down notes from the textbook I was left to get it. It took a single minute to get from the backroom to the front door, the small heel of my combats clunking on the floor as I walked.

I opened the door to reveal a friendly face, Dan Flint. My best friend, after Lucy and Georgina of course, He was quite muscular, though that was a given as If he wasn’t playing drums he was playing football, how he found time for these two activities and getting immaculate grades would forever be kept from me. “Danny” I smiled hugging him, though I did not see him in the same light as Lucy did, she absolutely adored him, seems I was the only girl in the group not infatuated with a member of You Me At Six, but maybe that was about to change…

Dan stepped inside, and it was now I got my first view of the new bassist. “You must be Matt” I smiled “Come on in”. He frowned a little, though stepped inside, seems I didn’t know him but he knew me.
