"no, no, no, no, no, no, no! i can't take it, it's too much!" i declined her offer, pushing her money back.
"c'mon, take it. we girls need to back each other up" she pushed the dollar onto my chest. i hesitantly took it
"thank you so much!" i took the money "i promise i'll pay you back officer..."
"Alicia. Alicia Roselle, but call me Alice."
"well thank you officer Alice."
" you're welcome. now if you don't mind, please come with me to the police station so i can fill some paper." she said opening the back door of her white police car. i was just about to sit when i heard a whine from the trash cans behind me, in front of it to be exact. i saw the dog standing weakly with a sad expression on it's face.
"wait!" i ran to the dog and lift it up "can she come?"
"is that your dog?" she questioned
i looked at the dog. she puppy-eyed me whined some more
~earlier~
i looked at it's collar with a golden tag on it, the word maroon was embossed on it.
"Maroon huh. that's a good name, but could be better." i thought for a while. the dog yawned, showing it's sharp teeth which reminds me of a bear trap's jaw. that's it!
"i think i 'll call you beartrap ! " i said petting his head. she barked in agreement. i flipped the tag around to see if i can found the owner's contact number or address. i was surprised by the information. this dog lived 10 miles from here!
"you really lost aren't you?" she whined
"don't worry, i'll take you back. but i can only leave at the weekend. is that cool?" she barked in delight

"hop in"
~time skip to arriving at your apartment building
"thank you for everything, officer Alice" i said as i stepped out of the car and hold the door open for the pup"c'mon bud" she jumped off the car seat" let's get you a place to stay for the night" i opened the front door. she barked a goodbye to officer Alice and i stepped inside the building with beartrap following me by the heels.
"stay safe!" said Alice as i closed the door. while i was climbing the stairs, i remembered the fact that : I HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL TOMORROW! what will i do with beartrap? i can't just leave her alone, she's just a pup.
