my fingers were numb of typing these endless web of words. my eyes were stinging and probably red from hours of staring in the computer's monitor. and my body feels a ton. i really wanted to slump on the bed and close my eyes and let my mind forget about this stupid report. but i just can't leave my group mates doing the tons of work. though two of them were already sound asleep.   i'm really having a hard time concentrating, especially after hearing the huge grandfather clock tik-toks. it chimed 3 times.

"hala. alas tres na pala."

i heard Paula said. i glanced at her way. she was doing a research and had kept her eyes on the pc.   Toni answered her back,

"kaya nga dalian na natin to. delikado."

i never wanted to say anything, but my stupid mouth was faster than my brain.

"bakit naman?"

i'm one of those freaks about another dimensions and entities of another world so probably, i have the weirdest idea to what Toni's referring danger. yet i asked.

she looked at me skeptically,

"i don't want any paranormal experiences JC."

you see, things that are beyond logical explanation usually happens at this time of hour. people tend to call it 'the Devil's Hour.' ahmm ... ok. i shouldn't probably thinking about this. but then, like in an old Filipino saying,

"laging nasa huli ang pagsisisi."

Paula got up from sitting on the opposite side of the couch and excused herself to go to the comfort room. Toni and I just nodded our heads and keep doing what we're doing. moments passed and Paula came back. she sat and typed, continuing what she was doing before. the Toni asked aloud,

"ok na ba to?"

she wasn't speaking to anyone in particular, but she is definitely referring to the report. Paula spoke up, "ok na yan. ready naman na yata kayo."

there was something different. i don't know whether it is because she didn't answer Toni's question or her words doesn't seem to matter or her voice sound deep, which shouldn't be, or simply because i felt that all that i have mentioned are quite true?

just then that Toni asked again, "anong sabi mo?" that we heard platters at the kitchen. we all looked at that way then Toni and i caught each others gaze.

"the heck's that?" she blurted out of surprise.

we looked at Paula's place and found no one. then in a second, Paula came out of the kitchen holding a platter of chips.

"oh bat ganyan kayo makatingin?" she asked as she made her way back to her station, back to where she was just moments ago.

"diba nagta-type ka na dito?" i asked her as she placed the platter on the table covered with papers.

"nag-CR ako diba?" Paula answered back.

"oo nga pero bumalik ka agad. tinanong pa nga kita ee." said Toni.

"hala. ee galing akong kusina, kumuha ako nito. ngayon pa lang ako bumalik mula sa CR." Paula explained as she looked to Toni and me.

"nag-type ka pa nga ee!"

i really don't wanna think that something had already happened. that Paula was just playing tricks on us. i rose up, then Toni too. we looked at the computer's monitor to see what 'Paula' had typed. and it says ...

STUDY WELL STUDENTS. SO YOU WON'T STAY UP LATE. I WILL PLAY MY PRANKS ON YOU IF YOU'LL DO THIS AGAIN.
