Rescuing His Iron Heart

I miss you.

Pepper's POV
I love Tony, I do but I miss him. I understand he's a superhero and it's his job to save the world but I want to spend more time with him. 

Today he went to save the world in Africa or something. He woke up early this morning, he kissed me goodbye and he said that he would be back. So I went back to sleep, trying not to worry. I woke up a little bit after that. I went to work and a worried a little more, when suddenly I received a call from Tony:

"Hi Pep!"

"Tony! what's wrong?"

"Nothing, it's just that I wanted to tell that I'm coming home for dinner and I thought maybe we could do something special tonight like a romantic dinner."

"I think it's a great idea Tony!"

"Then it's a date."

"See you then."

"Love you to the moon and back."

"You're so sweet Tony, I love you too."

Tony's POV

I was really excited to go to dinner with Pepper, but first I had to take down this bad guys. I put my suits to work by making them clean the house and set up the table. Thay are useful sometimes..

I called Steve:

"Is there any chance I could leave earlier, I got a date with Pepper."

"Of course, anything for love."

"Don't make things awkward Cap."

"Sorry."

Then I split and went straight home. 

I finally got home and greeted Pepper with a kiss on the lips.

She was wearing this amazing dress, she looked beautiful.

"You look amazing Pep."

"Thank you Tony"

2 hours later

We had this delicious dinner, after we just sat outside watching the stars. Pepper was with a sad look on her face.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing is just..."

"What?"

"I love this Tony and I just can't help but think this only temporary"

"What do you mean?"

"You're always out there risking your life, being Iron Man and saving the world with the Avengers and someday you're not coming back home", she started tearing up

"Hey, it's okay Pepper, I'm always coming back to you"

"It's not always going to be your choice"

"I Love you Pep, I just can't stop helping people. It's right thing to do."

"I know Tony I just wish you didn't have to fight aliens and other creatures, they're so dangerous."

"I'm not alone out there.

"I know but still..."

"Try not to think about that lets just enjoy every moment we have together."

I gave her a reassuring kiss.

And we just stayed there in silence, enjoying our time together.
