"Ok you've got a lot of explaining to do." kory tells me. we're sitting in the tree house that me and kory built, well technically her dad built it for us befor he died but we did help.
"Ok what do you want to,"
"everything! like when did this start and who's this shadowy figure, and how this is even possible!" kory cuts me off befor I can finish my sentence.
"Well it started about 2 or 3 days ago I don't have a clue who the figure is or how this is even possible."
"What do you mean you don't know!" Kory's yelling at this point'
"I mean I don't know, Kory I'm sorry but I don't know!" Me and Kory yell at eachother for a good 2 hours before we walk to my house, Kory moved in seeing as she has nowhere else to go.
...
I'm laying on my bed staring at the poster of 4 calico kittens in a basket with a million ways to apologise to kory going through my head. I sigh and start walking to the window.I look out and it's peaceful. The first time I actually feel safe since this all started. I stare out the window for so long I forget all about my fight with kory. But, it doesn't last. I hear Kory scream from her room in the basement. I run down the stairs down to Kory's room and,
I wake up. I go to the kitchen and grab an apple from the fridge then flop down on the sofa. I sit there a minute wondering why the house is so quiet. I just push it off and head to my room. I lay on my side and stare at a poster on my wall. After some time I get up and walk to my window. I look out and see scarlet colored sunset. I stare out my window until it gets to a navy blue color. I sigh, " geez, what happened. Everything was great. I had a best friend, A safe house, not a worry in the world. Now I can't even sleep cuz' of fear I'll dream of someone to death." I laugh quietly at myself for a minute. I look up at the now deep sea blue night sky for another 30 minutes. Kory screams and I run down to her room. I know what's going on. I slam the door open and I see the figure, standing in the center of the room. Blood is running down his arm dripping into a puddle by his feet. In his hand is Kory's head. I fall to my knees, "why? Why are you doing this to me?" I say in an almost whisper with tears streaming down my face. He leans in close, and whispers in my ear,
"because, it's fun." He stands back and starts laughing insanely. I watch as the shadowy figure squeezes out the tiny window in the room. I stay there, crying on my knees, for the rest of the night. Thinking of what I should do next.
