I'm sitting in my room, door locked and blinds closed. Thump, Thump, Thump "hey Rose get out of your bedroom and have something to eat." Sam demands from the other side of the door.

"No."

"Why not?"

I sigh and say, "because I'm not hungry and I don't want to."

"Come on it's been three day since you locked yourself in there. Mom and me are really worried about you." Sam pleads.

"Since when are you worried about me," I mumbled so she doesn't hear me.

"What was that?"

"Nothing. Just, leave me alone."

"Fine." Sam says once she realises she's wasting her time. Alone in my room once more, I sit there thinking. Maybe, i think, maybe she's right. I sigh and roll to my side. My purple blanket covering my face. I lay there for a while then turn to my other side and look at the window that's covered by a thick black curtain allowing no light in. It's dark but I can still see clearly. I slowly stand up for the first time since Kory's death. I wobble a little but I'm able to steady myself. I walk to the window and open the blinds regretting it immediately. It feels like my eyes are on fire. I feel around for the edge of the curtain, but to no avail. I turn around and go to sit on my bed facing the wall. After a short amount of time I face the window and stand up. It's not that bad now that my eye's are use to the light. I get up and open the window. I'm hit with the warm spring breeze. The fresh air fills my lungs, breath by breath. I lean out on the windowsill and watch the afternoon sky. I limp to my door and unlock it. Slowly, I pull the door open and walk to the kitchen. I peer through the door. And see my mom sipping her tea while reading a book. She looks up and sets her book down. I sit in the chair across the table from her. She gets up and pulls something from in the fridge, I can't tell what it is because it's covered in tinfoil. She sets it in front of me and pulls of the tinfoil to reveal a hamburger with cheese on it. "There have something to eat. It's leftovers from last night." My mom says trying to sound like she wasn't jumping for joy inside.

"Ok, thanks mom." I say plainly.

I eat the burger and talk to my mom for a bit. After some time I decide I want to go outside.

"I'm heading out see you in a bit."

" Be back by 7:00 for dinner."

"I will." I say while closing the door.

...

It's 6:45 and I'm on my way home, with ice cream in hand. "Heh, taking it easy I see." A deep voice coming from behind me says casually. Startled I turn around and see the figure that has been haunting me all this time.

"Wh-who, are you?" I ask more startled than I meant to sound. He just stands there and smiles.

He has long midnight black hair drooping down his shoulders. He's wearing a oversized dark red hoodie that's covering the top half of his face, up to his nose. He's wearing charcoal black sweatpants.

"Well isn't it obvious?" he asks still smiling. "I'm your nightmare." I stand there, it feels like time just stopped.

"How is that even possible?" I ask but he just ignores my question and walks past me into the bush. I walk home and go straight to my room, still shocked at my encounter with the figure.

...

Tap, tap, tap, "Rose, sweetheart, are you ok?" Mom asks sweetly from the other side of the door.

"Ya i'm ok." I lie. I don't want her to worry.

"alright, well dinner's ready."

"Yes mom i'll come when I'm hungry."
