Lydia's POV:

Apart from the memory, everything is going as I hoped. I am not sailing across the lake, because it would be embarrassing being with the first years. Instead, I am riding on the carriages, with Hermione, Harry and Ron. The carriages move slowly and rickety, but it is exciting in the dark.

"Lyd, you will be able to see Hogwarts soon," Harry says. This is it, the moment I have been waiting for my whole life! As we pass a corner, a huge black castle comes into view. Magnificent, that is the only way to describe Hogwarts. It looks more like a palace then a school. This is my school!

When our carriage arrives, Professor Mcgonagall calls me, Hermione and Harry to her office. Reluctantly, Ron sits down on his own.

"Welcome to Hogwarts Lydia," She says, as we walk down the corridor. When we enter her office, a small cosy place, she says, "Quickly before we are in front of the school, I want you to be sorted. Just so you aren't so... so noticeable," She says awkwardly. I know that she just doesn't want attention drawn to me, and I am grateful. She ushers me to a small stall, and places a large hat on my head.

Hmm, interesting. The hat says in my head. You are not all you seem. Intelligent and witty, but shy and concealed. You don't feel like you belong either, you feel left out don't you? Well, better be... RAVENCLAW!

I breathe a sigh of relief, as I am not in Slytherin. Despite the fact I wanted to be in Gryffindor, I know I just aren't.

"Congratulations, before classes tomorrow someone will take you to see Professor Dumbledore just to discuss some matters." She tells me. Being at Hogwarts is everything I have ever imagined, how could it ever be hard?
