Chapter 1

Percy's POV
The war was finally over. Gaea was dead. I should be with the others celebrating, but I can't. My soul mate died in the war, and I died with her. I sat on one of the upper branches of Thalia's Pine, just watching the celebration and rebuilding of camp. I sighed, I have to visit my mom. I jumped down and started walking away from camp, towards the sea. I swam back to the mainland and walked out totally dry. There were no mortals on the beach as it was August and they were all getting ready for school. 

I walked to my mom's apartment, ignoring the stares of the mortals. I got to the apartment and knocked on the door. No one answered and the door was unlocked so I went in. I walked to my mom's bedroom assuming she would be in there working. I went in and froze. Sure enough, my mom was there, so was Paul but they were dead. Both of them. I sank to my knees and screamed clutching my head in my hands.

 All of a sudden I saw gold and appeared in the throne room of the Olympians. "Son, are you all right?" Asked Poseidon, seeing me in the position I was in. 

"My mother is dead." I managed to choke out, still not looking up at them.

 "I'm sorry," Poseidon said sympathetically. "Are you alright?"

 "No" I answered shortly, not trusting my voice. I stood up and looked them in the face. "Why did you call me here?" I asked sounding, even to myself, exhausted. 

"We would like to bless you with powers and immortality," Zeus answered. I could tell it wasn't a question and I didn't feel like arguing with him so I just nodded. Zeus looked a little startled, thinking I would up way more of a fight. "Well let's get on with it!" Ever god pushed out an orb of their power combining it in the middle. The orb drifted forward into my chest, It was painful, but only for an instant. (I'm going to list the powers he got)

Poseidon- earthquakes and enhanced water powers
Zeus- safe flight, wings that can turn into a tattoo
Hades- shadow travel(basically Nico's powers)
Hera- shapeshifting into any animals and
teleportation
Demeter- Nature powers
Hestia- fire and making food appear
Ares- making any weapon appear and be an expert
Athena- smarts
Apollo- archery, and healing
Artemis- super senses and extra archery, because let's face it, Percy needs it.
Dionysus- can't get drunk, cause and cure madness
Hermes- super speed and expert thief
Aphrodite- more handsome can tell when people like each other
Hephustas- genius mechanic, metal worker

Zeus said in a loud voice, "I proclaim you Percy Jackson God of heroes, bravery, and loyalty." I nodded to all the gods and walked back to the elevator and took it down to the Empire State Building. I exited to the street and walked back to the apartment. I took the bodies, using teleportation, to the beach and burned them, letting the ashes spread through the air. I flashed back to the apartment and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow, hoping for a dreamless sleep, something in short supply lately.
