"Nothing! Absolutely nothing!" Regulas yelled, storming into mine and Bella's dorm, making the silent, focused atmosphere disturbed.
"I'm guessing likkle Reggie can't find the book he was wooking for?" Bella simpered mockingly, making Reg's hair flash dark red in anger.
"Can it Bella, we're looking for the same thing aswell," I snapped, frustrated at our lack of success.
She flushed red and shrugged.
"Five hours we've been looking, but not a single thing!" Reg sighed, raking his hands through his now-black hair.
"If you don't succeed, try again," I told him, "I need to start my homework now anyway, otherwise I'll never get it done, take a break Reg, you look like you need it."
"I guess you're right, bye guys," he plodded out of he room.
I took a fresh piece of parchment out of my bedside cupboard and rest it in the hard surface. I started to scribble the title down for my potions essay, dreading the next hour. You may thing I'm smart or cunning because I'm in Slytherin, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Whenever I read or write, the words seem to spiral and fly off the page and it just confuses me! It's been that way for as long as I can remember, and I don't know anything else but it. It seems like I'm the only person it happens to in the whole school, and it's so irritating.
I gritted my teeth in concentration as I searched my brain for anything I can remember from the lesson for my homework. We had to recall the various properties of Wolfsbane and why it's important, but all I can remember was spending the whole lesson attempting to read what was on the blackboard.
I let out a load yell in frustration, crumpling up the parchment and throwing it on the bed, I then snapped the quill and buried my head in my hands.
An obviously startled Bella spoke up, "Homework not going well for ya then?" She let out a laugh and got back to scribbling down on her own potions essay. I looked up at her hand in amazement, how can she do that!? How can she just write down all her ideas without getting confused?
I scowled at her, though she couldn't see me. I heard lots of speaking and footsteps downstairs in the common room and stood up to have a look; anything to avoid my homework. I peered down the banister and realised that it was time for dinner.
"Bella, you coming for dinner?" I called to her.
"I'll catch you up," She replied, writing furiously onto her parchment as she rushed.
"Sure," I then slid my feet into my black heels and walked down the stairs to meet Severus who had asked to meet me because he wanted to tell me something at dinner. Probably another plea to tutor me, I've always rejected him though. No matter how much I struggle, I want to do everything independently, relying on others is a weakness.
I saw a familiar mop of black hair and realised that Sev was talking to that ginger from Gryffindor, word has it she hates him know. It humours me and the rest of the Slytherins because she was Sev's weakness and...love...for a long time and we have to admit, sometimes we're sadists in this kind of situation. Somebody has to be.
"No Sev. I will not forgive you, I had a feeling all along that this would happen. I know now that you are nothing but a slimy, disgusting, evil Slytherin." Evans - I think that's her name - remarked to him, and I moved so I saw that his face became probably the most sad I've ever seen it.
I felt a spike of care towards my friend, he's always been there for me - now it's time for me to be there for him.
I cleared my throat and stepped out from the shadows, "I knew that Gryffindors were dumb but never realised they came this stupid, insulting a fellow-Slytherin is insulting all Slytherins."
I walked round Sev to touch his shoulder, which I could feel made him relax. He always says that when I open my mouth, everyone needs to run alway because my words just keep on flowing like bullets on a gun...whatever a gun is, I can never understand Sev.
"So unless you have a death wish, Evans I suggest you leave."
"I-"
"NOW!" I yelled, lifting my wand.
"Fine fine, I'm going," She backed away from me, and Gryffindors were supposed to be brave!
Once she had gone, I turned to Sev and started to speak about what had just happened but he cut me off.
"I don't want to talk about it, let's just go to dinner."
"Sure, Bella said she'd catch us up - she's just finishing her homework," I said, pain slightly evident in my voice.
"You know, my offer still stands about the tutoring..." He said as we started to walk to the Great Hall.
"Not a chance Snape, not a chance."
We walked to the Great Hall in a silence that wasn't comfortable neither awkward, it seemed as if we were both just in deep thought.
When we arrived in the Great Hall, we were called over by Regulas and Lucius. As I went to go over to them however, Sev grabbed my forearm and pulled me back.
"I want to talk to you alone," He muttered into my ear.
I turned and nodded my head slowly at him, I then turned back to Reg and Lucius and shrugged at them before following Sev to the other side of the table.
"What do you want Severus?" I asked as we sat down in a secluded part of the table.
He bought his head closer to mine.
"I finished the spell," He whispered excitedly.
"The...you...I won't believe it until you show me," I crossed my arms defiantly.
"Are you ok if I do it on you? I know the spell to reverse it, so it would be fine," He asked.
I considered it for a second, what could go wrong?
"Sure," I grabbed a sandwich and quickly ate it before standing up and motioning for Sev to follow me out of the room.
I'm curious to see what this is, maybe it's even something we can use on those cowardly Gryffindors.
